Chlorine dosing procedure

1. Use bubble top (20Ltrs) cans for chlorine dosing.


2. Weight 0.7 gm of Sodium hypo chlorite and add it to the partially filled (RO product water)
bubble top can.
3. Fill the remaining can and make it to 20 L with RO product water and mix the solution
thoroughly.
4. Set the dosing pump speed to 20 strokes.
5. Start feed pump.
6. Check the chlorine concentration in the raw water after dosing. Adjust the speed of dosing
pump, if required.

Operational Procedure:

bottom (9 divisions of 4 cms each)
Fill the bubble top with Sodium hypo chloride

Keep the suction point inside the bubble top

i. Switch ON the chlorine dosing pump


Check if the level is crossing each mark in

Monitoring and removing air lock in dosing tube

If the level is not getting crossed


ii. within two-three hours, this indicates
pump/line might be air locked

iii. Shutdown the plant


Remove the dosing tube from the

suction point of the dosing pump

Fill it with sodium hypo chloride

solution in the tube until it overflows

Re-fix the suction point to the dosing

Remove the dosing tube from the

viii. Switch ON the dosing pump

Check if the solution is coming out

the pump

x. If not, repeat the points from iii to v

Now, re-fix the dosing tube to the

Hold the end of the tube above the

Close the opening of the tube with
