1. Use bubble top (20Ltrs) cans for chlorine dosing.
2. Weight 0.7 gm of Sodium hypo chlorite and add it to the partially filled (RO product water) bubble top can. 3. Fill the remaining can and make it to 20 L with RO product water and mix the solution thoroughly. 4. Set the dosing pump speed to 20 strokes. 5. Start feed pump. 6. Check the chlorine concentration in the raw water after dosing. Adjust the speed of dosing pump, if required.
Operational Procedure:
Use 20 ltrs bubble top can for chlorine
i. dosing
Measure the height from bottom to neck (of
ii. 20 ltrs BT)
iii. Make nine (9) equal markings from neck to
bottom (9 divisions of 4 cms each) Fill the bubble top with Sodium hypo chloride iv. solution (Procedure as explained above)
Keep the suction point inside the bubble top
i. can
v. Run the feed pump
i. Switch ON the chlorine dosing pump
Check if the level is crossing each mark in vi. every two-three hours
Monitoring and removing air lock in dosing tube
If the level is not getting crossed
ii. within two-three hours, this indicates pump/line might be air locked
iii. Shutdown the plant
Remove the dosing tube from the iv. suction point of the dosing pump
Fill it with sodium hypo chloride
v. solution in the tube until it overflows
Re-fix the suction point to the dosing
vi. pump
Remove the dosing tube from the
vii. discharge point of the dosing pump viii. Switch ON the dosing pump
Check if the solution is coming out
ix. through the open discharge point of the pump
x. If not, repeat the points from iii to v
Now, re-fix the dosing tube to the
xi. discharge point of the dosing pump Remove the dosing tube from the xii. process line
Hold the end of the tube above the
xiii. level of dosing pump
xiv. Run the dosing pump until solution
comes out
Close the opening of the tube with
xv. thumb xvi. Re-fix the tube to the process line
