Student Support Scholarship Scheme


GUIDELINES

These Guidelines may be called “The National University of Study and Research in Law,
Ranchi Guidelines for Award of Student Support Scholarships.”
1. Objective
(a) Merit Scholarship:
The objective of the Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to 02 (two) meritorious
UG students of second to final year based on CGPA{08 (Eight) Scholarships}.
(b) Support Scholarship:
Support Scholarships will be provided to the students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and
General category 8 (Eight) of second to final year of UG based on low income
criteria{32(Thirty Two) Scholarships}.
Total 40 (Forty) Scholarships.

2. Time for the award of scholarship

The Scholarship shall be awarded at the end of each academic year from 2 nd year to 5th
year only.

3. Form of Scholarship

The scholarship shall be awarded in the form of a waiver of the tuition fees of the student
to the extent of Rs. 50,000/- for the year of award.

4. Eligibility Criteria:
Merit Scholarship
The eligibility criteria for award of Merit Scholarship shall be as follows:
A. The student should be enrolled as an Under Graduate student of this University.
B. His / Her cumulative CGPA of all the previous semesters should not be less than 6
(six).
C. Merit Scholarship will be awarded based on the higher secured CGPA of the previous
year (first year CGPA for scholarship award in second year etc.).
D. If a candidate is availing any other scholarship / financial aid greater than or equal to
50,000/- he/she is not eligible for Merit Scholarship. (Educational loan shall not be a
disqualification).
Support Scholarship
The eligibility criteria for award of Support Scholarship shall be as follows:
E. The student should be enrolled as an Under Graduate student of this University.
F. Those students whose family annual income is below 2.4 Lakhs per annum are only
eligible to apply for support scholarship.
G. Among them the lowest family annual income will be preferred for Support
Scholarship.
H. The student has to furnish Income Certificate, Caste Certificate and Affidavit
stating that he/she is not receiving any other scholarship from other sources.
I. If a candidate is availing any other scholarship / financial aid greater than or equal to
50,000/- he/she is not eligible for Support Scholarship. (Educational loan shall not be
a disqualification).

5. Application procedure

A. The student seeking scholarship shall apply to the University in the prescribed format
before 21/04/2022.
B. The students from whom applications are not received within the stipulated time shall not
be considered for the award of any scholarship by the University.
C. The application for the scholarship shall be accompanied by Income Certificate
disclosing the total annual income of the family / guardian of the applicant.
D. The students who have once obtained the scholarship shall have to re-apply at the end of
each academic year. He / she shall also have to meet all the requirements afresh if they
wish to be reconsidered for the scholarship in the next year.
E. No students shall be granted scholarship for more than four occasions.

6. Mode of payment

Payment of scholarship of Rs. 50,000/- shall be adjusted with the tuition fees of the
students and it will be credited to the student fee account.

7. Disqualification:

A. The candidate should not have been availing any other scholarship / financial aid during
the relevant time period. (Educational loan shall not be a disqualification).
B. The candidate should never been found guilty by the University for any act of
indiscipline.
C. The candidate should never have been debarred for shortage of attendance.
D. The grade/marks obtained after repeat/improvement/grace in the examination shall not be
considered.
E. The candidate should never have failed in the end-term examination.
