OR
If the sum of first 14 terms of an Arithmetic Progression is 1050 and its fourth term is 40, find its 20th
term.
6. In below figure, ΔABC is circumscribing a circle, the length of BC is …… cm. 2M

10. An angle of elevation of an aero plane from a point A on the ground is 60°. After a flight of 30 seconds,
the angle of elevation changes to 30°. If the plane is flying at a constant height of 3600√3 m, find the
speed of the plane in km/hr. 3M
OR
Two poles of equal heights are standing opposite to each other on either side of the road, which is 100 m
wide as shown in the figure. The angles of elevation of the top of the poles, from a point between them
on the road, are 30° and 60° respectively. Find the height of the poles and the distances of the point from
the poles.

circle. 4M

OR
Two circles with centres O and Oʹ of radii 3 cm and 4 cm, respectively intersect at two points P and Q,
such that OP and OʹP are tangents to the two circles. Find the length of the common chord PQ.

13. Case Study-1 4M

The Great Stupa at Sanchi is one of the oldest stone structures in India and an important monument of
Indian Architecture. It was originally commissioned by the emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC. It
has a big hemispherical dome with a cuboidal structure mounted on it. It is a perfect example of the
combination of solid figures. (Take 𝜋 = 22/ 7)
(i) Find the radius of the hemisphere if the volume of the hemisphere is numerically equal to 7 times
the CSA of the hemisphere.
(ii) If the volume of two spheres are in the ratio 64:27 then find the ratio of their surface areas.

14. Case Study-2 4M
A cyclist is climbing through a 20 m long rope which is highly stretched and tied from the top of a
vertical pole to the ground as shown below

Based on the above information, answer the following questions.

(i). Find the distance between artist and the foot of the pole if the angle made by the rope with the ground
level is 60°.

(ii). Find the height of the pole if the angle made by the rope with the ground level is 45° and the length
of the rope is reduced by 3 m.
