Faced with the seriousness of the outbreak, VPBank swiftly implemented cautious risk
management measures, focusing on establishing policies and processes for the entire business as
well as risk management control mechanisms. extensive danger the bank's management
concentrated on credit control with the loan portfolio, acting in a selective manner.
Reducing the amount of unsecured loans and actively promoting debt structuring and debt
settlement assisted in keeping the consolidated bad debt ratio at 3.65 percent under control. In
which the parent bank demonstrated strong asset quality improvements as the bad debt ratio
steadily reduced from 2.18 percent in 2019 to 1.51 percent at the end of 2021. Individual
provision expenditures climbed by 52.9 percent at the bank, with the bank making an extra
provision of more than 1 trillion dong for debt restructuring and completing 30 percent of the
entire additional provision. This demonstrates the bank's prudence, since it is always prepared
with a "buffer" of reserves to deal with unanticipated risks from the epidemic's impact.
Furthermore, the bank is consistently focused on effective debt collection tactics. Consolidated
bad debt settlement income surpassed VND 3 trillion by the end of 2021, an increase of 54.5
percent, and contributed a "substantial" amount of the bank's overall profits.
Equity
2021 marks an important milestone in VPBank's operations with the bank having completed the
transfer of 49% of its charter capital at FE Credit to Japan's SMBC Group in October 2021,
establishing the largest M&A transaction record in Vietnam's financial sector and being voted
the business of 2021. This successful transaction has put VPBank in a leading position in terms
of equity size.
In the year, VPBank also completed the increase of charter capital to more than VND 45 trillion
through dividend in shares at the rate of 80%, making the bank the second largest charter capital
in the market at the end of 2021. Thanks to abundant capital, at the end of 2021, the capital
adequacy ratio (car) according to Basel II standard (TT41) of the consolidated bank reached
14.27%, which far exceeded the SBV's requirement of 8%, and reached out to the leading banks
in the region. The large amount of capital helps VPBank consolidate its financial capacity,
ensure good operational safety indicators, have a basis to expand the business opportunities of
the strategic segment as well as invest in new areas to support traditional business activities.
Strong investment plans will help VPBank achieve its growth goals in both scale and quality in
the future
Growth credit from strategic segments
At the end of 2021, the consolidated credit growth of VPBank reached 18.9%, exceeding the
plan at the beginning of the year and higher than the average of the entire banking sector of
13.5%. The consolidated credit balance reached more than 384 trillion. As the economy started
to recover from the gap, the bank led in automobile loan disbursements in the group of joint-
stock banks and doubled its home loan disbursements compared to 2020 through diverse digital
applications for loan products such as Race Apps, Race Home...

At December 31, 2021, the Bank has one (1) Head Office, sixty-six (66) branches, one hundred
and sixty-eight (168) transaction offices across the country and two (2) subsidiaries (December
31, 2020: 1 Head Office, 62 branches, 167 transaction offices and 2 subsidiaries). The Bank's
head office is located at 89 Lang Ha, Lang Ha Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi.
