Concept Statement

Who are we?

We are a team of two highly enthusiastic and professional engineers who are always up for
exploring new technologies and seeking for the business opportunities associated with those
technologies. The team members are also doing MBA from “Institute of Business Management”.
We have analyzed that during COVID-19 lockdown the major issue that the businesses faced
was the work from home strategy. Many of the businesses were shut as their business requires
physical presence of their staff in office. The Nimblink is an effort from the team to provide an
affordable remote working solution to small and medium level businesses of Pakistan.

What do you need?

If you have a staff of 20 people and you have some local storage server in your office where your
staff performs some specific task. Or let say you are consultancy firm and your designs are
confidential so how would you run your business in lockdown. let’s take another scenario, let say
you have a chain of retail store and you want all of them to be connected to head office but you
don’t want it at a very expensive cost. All of above scenario can be answered with Nimblink as
Nimblink is a VPN solution that fulfill all above needs in a very affordable price.
What is it about?
Nimblink is initiative towards the solution of remote connectivity with easy management and
affordable prices. Besides the remote connectivity solution, Nimblink also provides the
consultancy for the computer networking problems. in later run, the company aims to provide
application level solutions such as affordable video and voice connectivity solution in local
market
Who is it for?
Nimblink is designed for small and medium level businesses who can’t afford expensive
infrastructure and resources of remote connectivity. It is a very easily manageable and scalable
remote connectivity solution which can be easily operated by a common literate man.
How does it work?
Nimblink is hybrid venture. it has both online and onsite business flavors. The business focuses
on physical meeting with customer for consultancy and also provide online technical support to
customers. The customers can book order online if they have a requirement of standard solution.
In case they need consultancy then physical or online meetings are arrange to discuss

the requirement of the customer.

What is stopping us?

Since Nimblink is a new venture to the biggest hindrance we are facing is that customer is
unaware of such type of solution. We have to provide a complete demo in order to get
customer’s trust on our product. Even after getting demo, clients are a bit concerned about the
operations of the product. To resolve this problem, we are offering free 1 months support to
customer with every device sale.
How can you be a part of it?
We have introduced a commission based sales program in which anyone can join us a sales
agent. We shall give 10% of the revenue as a commission to anyone who will bring us the sale of
our product.

Best Regards

Introduction
The proposed business is Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity solution provider for
remote locations. The aim of this business is to enable the office staff to work from home and to
provide access of office IT equipment from the home. The goal is to is serve the staff of low and
mid-level enterprises who cannot continue their office jobs due to lockdown of COVID-19.
Our company has started on a small scale with initial offering of remote VPN connectivity
solutions and digital network consultancy to corporate and consumer section of Pakistan. We
want the customers to believe that we will work as a success partner with them and will help
them to achieve their target by providing them the right solutions for their needs.
Our company will be operating through various platforms such as social media, corporate emails
and physical meeting. These channels will be our main source of communication with the
consumers. As the Nimblink is a technical product and can be customized as per customer’s
requirement so in order to understand customer’s requirement, physical / online meeting will be
conducted with customer.
The motivation behind starting this business was to establish a platform through which I can
provide digital networking solution to market and can have a good resource of earning. Another
reason Another reason for starting my own company was because having your own company
allows you to make your own rules and do and handle things according to your way. Since I have
been working in an ISP industry for last 10 years so I know that what are the challenges a low or
medium level enterprises face. So this platform was created to provide solutions to those low and
mid-level businesses.

Problem Statement
Nimblink aims to provide a digital solution of remote working to small and medium level
businesses. The objective of the firm is to solve the problem of remote connectivity without
using any special IT resources at client end.
Out of the box solution
VPN connectivity is often considered as an expensive and difficult solution in the market.
Usually this kind solutions are implemented at very large organization who can afford high tech
servers and IT persons. For small / mid level enterprises, these kind of solution cannot be
maintained as they cannot afford the high tech serves and cannot a fulltime IT human resource.
The idea of Nimblink is to provide a plug and play solution for the business who don’t have
much IT knowledge. The solution works right out of the box. All a user needs to do is to just to
connect the Nimblink device with its broadband internet router and a basic configuration on its
laptop/desktop and you can connect to your work place in no time. This is a best affordable
option if a small is to be run with a work from home environment during COVID-19 lockdown.
Easy Management
The another major problem that an IT staff faces is that of management. Nimblink provides an
easily understandable web portal to the administrator of the company to manage and
troubleshoot the problems in the VPN connections. There are few steps that needs to be
performed such as checking the internet connectivity status of the user, power status of the user
device and Laptop configuration of the user. This brings easy management that does not required
any highly skilled IT person to run and operate the solution.
Scalability
The solution is scalable from 2 users to 50 users in standard financials. If the users are more than
50 then there will be an annual subscription for the user to 100. Nimblink works over any good
quality broadband internet connectivity which is easily available in metro cities.
Budget Friendly solution
The cost of the Nimblink is very cheap as compare to the existing VPN solutions in the market.
The reason of the cheap cost is that it is an in house designed solution with the world’s best open
source softwares. The cost of Nimblink is 1/3rd of the VPN solutions available in the local
market.

Customer Profiling

I talked to Network and IT professionals working in Textile and Pharmaceutical industry and
was able to gather total 11 responses.

1) Fayaz Ahmed
Customer Job: Team Lead IT infrastructure at Yunus Textile Mills
Company Information: Yunus Textile Mills is part of the Yunus Brothers Group which has
renowned set ups in different industries like hospitals, textiles, real estate, energy, cement,
commodity trading business, construction, FMCG, automobile and more. In this short time
frame, the company has transformed itself from a supplier of basic bedding products to a world-
renowned supplier of Home Textile Products
Pains: He said that main pain he faces is network support. The people are not IT literate and that
give them a way of skipping from work. He thinks that to use this kind of solution, first they
need to educate their staff.
Gains: He said that mid-sized companies can use this solution who don’t have dedicated IT
resources. Companies can also take this solution as an alternate if they think to outsource their
existing VPN solution to reduce company’s cost of doing business.
Discussion: Their company is already having VPN servers for their remote connectivity. They
use standard software for this purpose. Currently they have configured each employee’s laptop
with the VPN software who is going to work from home. I explained him that by using our VPN
solution, he can reduce the cost of VPN server management. For technical support we will
provide one-month free technical support with each device and will also provide a very brief
manual of how to operate and trouble shoot our solution. Even after that if they want support, we
can provide 9x5 (working hours 9-5 and working days Monday to Friday) over separate charges.

Customer Job: IT Head at Cotton Empire (Pvt.) Ltd.
Company Information: Cotton Empire, one of Pakistan’s leading manufacturer and exporter of
Bath Linen (All kind of Terry Towels, Bathrobes) & Home Textiles (Bed Linen+ Fabrics) to
many destinations across the globe.
Pains: He said that this solution does not address the tracking feature of the remote users. We
don’t know what the person is doing at home even if he is connected. Moreover, since they are
not IT literate, if there is any issue, they will not be able to troubleshoot and will complain at
helpdesk for support. He also informed me that to resolve this remote connectivity issue, their
company have put their IT infrastructure over cloud and make it reachable to every staff over the
internet. They have also purchased google drive for their staff use.
Gains: He thinks that this is very useful solution for the businesses who don’t have IT resources.
This will help them to reduce their cost of doing business. He also said that if we can provide
devices over rent then it will further reduce the cost of doing business for small companies.
Discussion: I explained him that our solution has a control panel through which we can restrict
user’s activity when they are connected over VPN. We can limit their access to social media
websites and can only allow them to use office related services.

3) Muhammad Shoaib
Customer Job: Team Lead Network and CCTV surveillance support at Zaman Textile Mills Pvt
Limited
Company Information: Zaman Textile was founded in 1968, and was acquired by Premier
Group in 2003 and are involved in the manufacturing of Yarn, Dyed Yarn and Greige, Printed &
Dyed Fabric
Pains: He did not to opt for our solution as currently their company has already installed a VPN
server at their office and have provided dedicated router for VPN connectivity from his home.
He was concerned that this kind of solution already exist so what’s the new thing which will
tempt him to opt.
Gains: He said that this kind of VPN solution will be very beneficial for the companies who are
looking forward to invest in IT infrastructure. He said that if this solution was offered last year
when the lockdown started, his company would definitely be interested in this as it brings the
same value as they are currently having in their company but at very affordable cost.
Discussion: during our discussion, he informed me that their company has already installed a
VPN server for remote connectivity of the staff but for that they had to invest IT equipment of
PKR 32,000 at remote user end. I explained him that the cost of our hardware will be around
PKR 10,000 which is 1/3rd cost of their existing hardware but also they don’t have to manage
their own VPN server. So he admits that our solution is very economical and it can be used for
mid-sized businesses.

4) Nauman Ashraf
Customer Job: Senior IT Managers at Velocity Textiles
Company Information: Velocity Textiles is committed towards the development of
manufacturing, source, supply and export quality textile products and services.
Pains: He was not looking forward to a VPN solution as he thinks people are moving towards
cloud based solution. He also said that if local serves must be used then there is a need for cheap
VPN solution which should work right out of the box.
Gains: As per Mr. Nauman, this will be a very good solution for the NGOs (such as Saylani and
Cheepa) which do not have much IT budget and this will help them work remotely from
anywhere, saving them time and cost. Also it will increase their productivity by using local video
and voice conferencing solutions.
Discussion: I explain about the solution and realized him that the cost of hosting any server over
cloud will be much high then hosting it on their local data center. Also by hosting their data over
cloud there is security threat of data leakage and Cyber-attacks.

Customer Job: IT Head at Crown Textile
Company Information: Crown Textile is a Pakistan based garment exporter that designs,
produces and exports world class famous brands to more than 100 countries.
Pains: He did not want the VPN solution I offered in his company as his company was already
having VPN server hosted in the Company. Furthermore, he shows his concerned that as my
VPN solution will be hardware based so it will be very hard to visit every site and configure
device separately.
Gains: He said that this solution will support small or medium size business where there is no or
little IT staff available. It will help the company to work remotely. He also said that if there will
be soft client available which can be installed on laptops then it will be more convenient to use.
Discussion: I explained him that we can configure devices at head office and courier them to the
sites and ask receivers to just power up the device and connect it with their broadband router. In
this way the VPN service could be established. Furthermore, I also explain him that as we are in
a starting phase so currently our solution is hardware based but in future our R&D team will
work for the software based client also.

users to work remotely. Furthermore, this solution can be a backup solution for big companies
even if they already have any existing VPN solution

Gains: He said that this kind of connectivity solution is very useful for the small or medium

which are developed, formulated and manufactured at its cGMP compliant manufacturing
facility located in Karachi.
Pains: He said that the solution does not address the support issue of the VPN services. Either
bad broadband connection, any hardware malfunction or any other mistake of the user can be a
cause of disconnection. The staff who is working from home will not be technical person. he will
simply call office and complain that he is unable to work due to network issue.

the primary teaching site of the Aga Khan University's Faculty of Health Sciences. Founded by
the Aga Khan, the hospital provides a broad range of secondary and tertiary care, including
diagnosis of disease and team management of patient care
Pains: He was concerned that the broadband connections are unstable in Pakistan so when any
broadband link goes down, it will take at least 24 hours for that link to get restored. As they are
related to medical field so they can’t afford that much downtime for their branch network.
Gains: He said that this solution will be beneficial for the companies who don’t have mission
critical services. He said if we guarantee the uptime of the solution then he can consider this
solution for their remote branches.
Discussion: I cleared out regarding broadband connectivity uptime by mentioning that if we
want a professional uptime like 99% then can consider multiple broad band connections of
different service provider like, PTCL, Jazz, Zong etc. in this way, if one broadband connection
goes down, we can switch to other available broadband connection to maintain the service
uptime.

broadband connection and if the connection goes down, how will we provide service in that
meantime. He also said that any company can install its own VPN server at its data center to
provide remote connectivity to its users.
Gains: He said that this solution is ideal for the companies who had multiple branches with no
proper IT management. If we can provide a good IT support, then this solution will be very
popular in retail markets.
Discussion: I explain him that our solution works over any internet connection. To maintain the
service uptime, we can used multiple internet connections even the 3G connection will also work
but its speed will be little slow due inherit feature of 3G connectivity.

Pains: He said he will not opt for this solution as now a day every server is hosted on cloud and
any can access them via internet from anywhere. Opting this solution will not give any benefit to
the company.
Gains: He said that this solution is useful for those companies who do not have cloud
infrastructure. This solution will be useful for local video conferencing, local PBX connection,

which reduces their cost of doing business.

end but it is very easy to manage also. Customer can connect the Nimblink device with its
broadband router and can connect to its work place very easily. In case customer is unable to
operate Nimblink device then for such customers we will also provide onsite support over
separate charges in which Nimblink’s technical person will visit to customer and configure
the connection on their behalf.
