SOAL

In a construction project, the construction engineer is trying to figure out the design capacity
for a mobile crane. He is considering to utilize a 200-tons crawler crane to lift objects as high
as 130 ft above the ground. The logistic department informed him that the tallest object to be
lifted is a 25 ft vessel. The total length of attachments (hook, sling, block, etc.) is 9 ft, and
they weigh approximately 150 lbs. If the crane is to be used within the distance of 35 ft and
turning 135° , determine the safety weight lift (SWL) of the crawler crane.

JAWABAN

Weight crawler crane = 200 tons

Height crawler crane = 130 ft

Height objects = 25 ft

Length of attachments = 9 ft

Weight of attachments = 150 lbs

Distance from the center of rotation = 35 ft (radius)

Rotation = 135°

Minimum height of the boom point of the crane:

h boom point , min =130 ft +25 ft + 9 ft=164 ft

SWL=Capacity−Weight of attachment=122.900−150=122.750 lb

Maka the safety weight lift (SWL) of the crawler crane adalah 122.750 lb.
