Basic requirements of IO/KBC/EC of laptop

and its triggering process.

I have explained how Laptop IO/EC/KBC chip works, and all the basic power Requirements and
ioTrigger logic of this chip.

Io trigger is very important for laptop repairing . sio one of most important chip
In laptop motherboard , sio instant for System Input Output ,we will discuss about io
trigging

First there voltage, +3vLDO entering to sio chip

Named VCC, this voltage go to other part named AVCC

The voltages there will be two grounds, first ground GND

Other AGND, instance for Analog ground ,GND for VCC

And AGND for AVCC .

There another voltage enter the io chip. +3V LDO

By pull up Resistor as shown.

AS we can see Lid Switch or hall switch...Called LIDSW#

That indicate the status of Lid switch or Hall switch

This work by +3VLDO, this signal enter to IO chip

Another circuit it is thermal protection circuit, very important, voltage divider if there problem with
thermal circuit Io trigger will not be success.

There is another thing is crystal as shown for next following fig

Create frequency go to IO then SIO, after has frequency

IO create voltage and other signal, LIDSWOUT#

The switch status PWREBTN# / NBSON#

Then IO will anther output DNBSON#
Go to the PCH or ICH , then

Will start communicate with bios chip , then io chip sending other signal RSMRST it final
