The Atlanta Federal Penitentiary was the largest penitentiary in the United States.

The federal
penitentiary in Atlanta housed some of the country’s most notorious prisoner. On 1987, a bloody revolt
started by the Cuban prisoners and the FBI and special operations teams must infiltrate a burning prison
to stop the violence before it rages out of control. In my observation in the documentary, the main
cause of riot is that the U.S. State Department announced that Cuba had agreed to reinstate a 1984
accord that would permit the repatriation of up to 2,700 Cuban nationals. Many of these Cubans,
including those who were imprisoned, chose life in the United States than life in Cuba. They rioted to
voice their dissatisfaction with the prospect of deportation, and they held hostages in an attempt to
negotiate a different fate. It says there that, there was a trust between the detainees and the
correctional officers and that drug trust was basically the treatment that the detainees got from the
correctional officers. It also said that, normally it would be full of inmates were making a lot of noise in
breakfast are but they noticed an eerie silence and maybe that time the prisoners may already be
planning what they will do. As I watched the first four minutes video clip, I noticed that the detainees
making the mattresses in industrial building but in instance detainees overpower their guards and ignite
fires and that was the start of riot. To my knowledge, if you are the correctional officers first thing that
you should not do is to trust the prisoners because for they may use thee in their evil works. I think the
correctional officers in Atlanta Federal Penitentiary are lock of security to the inmates.
