Heart Reach Carmel

Heart Reach Carmel was established by Pierre Twer

and Friends in 2010 and is an extension of Heart Reach Carmel
Michiana which was founded by Dr. Walt Halloran and
friends in 2004. Heart Reach was established to keep
monies raised by various fundraising efforts to stay in
the area and impact the community.

The Mission of Heart Reach Carmel is to serve the

central Indiana community, particularly those affected
by heart disease, through education, financial support
and direct assistance. Direct assistance includes
supporting local schools, churches and community
organizations by purchasing and placing AED’s 5K / 2K
(automated external defibrillators) at their facilities and kiddie romp
training their staffs on their successful ongoing usage.

About AED’s: Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause July 16, 2011
of death in the United States, killing roughly one million
Americans every year. What is true nationally is also
true in our community - that’s why Heart Reach Carmel
was created. We believe that money raised locally
should be used locally to fight heart disease. We are
committed to that basic principle. We are a non profit
charitable organization entirely funded through private
contributions, which are tax deductible.

Portable AED’s are used to restart someone’s heart

in the event of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Each
year sudden cardiac arrest kills 335,000 people of all
ages and fitness levels without warning. Ninety five
percent of those who suffer from SCA die because CPR Scan with a free
