Unit 1 Feedback

Observations:
Over the course of the lessons in Spanish Unit 1, I’ve gotten to know Grace, and let me say, I
believe she’s a very bright girl with many capacities. She has shown responsibility arriving to class on
time for every session, and when asked, she has brought extra materials as well.
Spanish Unit 1 concludes with the difference between Ser/Estar, which we have yet to reach in the
program. We still have a few themes to introduce before we get to the end. However, Grace has been
able to retain basic greetings and farewells, as well as some nouns and adjectives. She uses these
words occasionally in conversation. I would like for her to learn more vocabulary. Her pronunciation
has gotten much better, and contrary to before, Grace now tries to say difficult words without
hesitating to speak.
I notice on certain occasions a warm up exercise catches her attention; Grace performs in a more
animated way. It has been challenging to engage Grace; however, during today’s lesson, she responded
very well to the conversation and listening game Simon Says. I believe that movement exercises might
be one activity Grace would enjoy doing in class.
The progress Grace is making in class is dependent on her participation and interest levels. Some
classes are more productive than others. I will continue to look for more ways to motivate her. Grace
shows great promise when she participates well.
