    This study evaluated the effectiveness of ozone therapy in regulating oxidative stress associated with chronic Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Patients receiving thyroid medication were given additional rectal ozone therapy. Initial testing found high levels of oxidative stress and antibodies. After ozone therapy, oxidative stress levels decreased and markers of thyroid function and antibodies improved. The results suggest ozone therapy may help reduce oxidative stress in Hashimoto's thyroiditis and further research is needed to understand its effects on the immune system in these patients.
