SDET – An introduction
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is a unique, modern role
created to bridge the gap between Software Development and Quality
Engineering (QE). This role has become crucial in the recent times with an
SDET becoming involved right from the start of the project to design and
implementation of the project roadmap.
It infuses the right mix of development capabilities and QE expertise in
identifying the right testing processes and methodologies. It also involves
creating new automation frameworks, processes or solutions to elevate
the QE practice and ensure targeted outcomes to customers.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop innovative test solutions by analyzing requirements,
collaborating with teams, understanding the test need, data usage
and verification processes
• Demonstrate the robustness of the solution by displaying its
execution in different scenarios
• Work on technologies across the spectrum of Selenium, UFT, C#, Java,
Karate, Appium etc.
• Prepare and install test solutions on different environments and
integrations
• Improve the performance of the solution with periodic review for
failures and performance glitches
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
• B.Tech / B.E. – CSE/EEE/ECE/IT
• Strong Technical & Articulation skills with business acumen
• 75% / CGPA equivalent & above in 10th, 12th &B.Tech / B.E.
• No outstanding arrears in B.Tech / B.E.
