The Sports Journalists’ Federation of India (SJFI) has decided to honour former
Indian Cricketer and cricket commentator Sunil Manohar Gavaskar with its
prestigious ‘SJFI Medal 2021’ at SJFI Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Guwahati,
Assam.
SJFI Medal is the highest honour of SJFI. SJFI was founded on 27th February 1976 at

Environmentalist Dr Anil Prakash Joshi, who was conferred upon the Padma

Marketing Cooperative Societies, Self Help Groups, farmers, and joint

All loans will be provided with an interest subvention of 3 per cent
per annum up to a limit of Rs 2 crore. The scheme will be funded
through the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF).

impact of COVID-19. The government will be incurring an
expenditure of nearly two lakh 6000 crore rupees on Pradhan

Gujarat topped the Good Governance Index 2021

• Good Governance Index 2021 was launched by Union Minister of Home Affairs
and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on the occasion of the Good
Governance Day on 25 December 2021.
• Gujarat has topped the composite ranking in the Good Governance Index
(GGI), followed by Maharashtra and Goa while Uttar Pradesh showed an
incremental growth of 8.9 per cent in the indicators. Delhi has topped the
union territories category composite ranking. Rajasthan has topped the

NITI Aayog released 4th State Health Index; Kerala topped
• NITI Aayog has released fourth edition of the State Health Index for 2019–
20 that provides incremental performance in health outcomes and status.
• Developed by: NITI Aayog, World Bank, and Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare (MoHFW).
• Among the Larger States, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana emerged among
the best three performers in terms of Overall Performance at 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank
respectively. Uttar Pradesh (UP) ranked at the bottom i.e. 19th.
• Among the Smaller States, Mizoram (1st), Tripura (2nd), and Sikkim (3rd)
emerged as the best performer in Overall Performance. Nagaland ranked 8th.

• Paris-based World Inequality Lab has released World Inequality Report
2022, authored by Lucas Chancel, co-director of World Inequality Lab, and was
coordinated by famed French economist Thomas Piketty. As per the report
2022, India is now among the most unequal countries in the world with an
affluent elite.
• The average national income of the Indian adult population is Rs 204,200.
While the bottom half of Indian population earns Rs 53,610, the top 10%
earns twenty times more (around Rs 11,66,520). Top 10% and top 1% hold
respectively 57% and 22% of total national income, while share of the bottom
