Objective: The Universal Prevention Curriculum Series for Prevention Coordinators and
Prevention Implementers is designed to educate substance use prevention
practitioners on the science, knowledge, skills, and competencies
associated with the implementation of evidence-based prevention
interventions. This series has been developed for those working as
coordinators of government programs and community-based organizations.
Now this series will provide a focused, skills-based curriculum to prepare
prevention implementers for working in evidence-based prevention at the
grassroots level.

● Provided a comprehensive overview of effects of drug use on the family.

II. Summary of the REAP

This REAP focuses on the Universal Prevention Curriculum on Substance Use, which aims to
help young people avoid or delay the initiation of the use of drugs, or if they have started
already, to avoid that they develop disorders. This will be a two-day training session for the
trainees of GSNSAT as participants exploring a flexible mode of delivery (Face to Face or
Virtual).
III. Objectives

1. To show how prevention science concepts are the foundation for the prevention of
substance use.
2. To create a positive learning community and environment
3. To give participants a summary of the overall training goals, objectives, and learning
approach of the curriculum; and
4. To introduce some basic terminology related to the physiology and pharmacology of
substance use and addiction.
