MA – TANZANIA CLASSIC SAFARI

Tanzania: Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti

DURATION
10 Days
Door-to-door

A wild adventure in style

In a busy world where only a few moments are spared for relaxing and enjoying life, many of us find it
difficult to find any time to do so. Hence, we embark on a safari that highlights three of Tanzania's most
spectacular natural gems: the classic safari lands of Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and
the legendary Serengeti - all within a 10-day period. Our journey begins with a stopover in Europe,
followed by a direct flight to the tranquil oasis of Arusha Coffee Lodge. From there, we embark on a
carefully designed safari, staying two nights in each of the lodges/camps, carefully chosen for their
hospitality, quiet setting and lack of excessive activity.

Highlights

• Safari trip covering three of East Africa's most significant game viewing attractions in less than
two weeks: the endless plains of the Serengeti, the rugged landscapes of Tarangire, and the magnificent
Ngorongoro Crater.

• The luxurious camps and lodges present a unique alternative to traditional accommodations:
Tree-top tents perched high on imposing baobab and marula trees; secluded luxury tents overlooking
the Grumeti River, teeming with frolicking hippos.

• You'll enjoy a host of activities, like daily game drives; tracking lessons with Maasai warriors;
guided nature walks in the golden Serengeti; and thrilling night game drives.

• The Magical Africa Team, including our expert, English-speaking Safari Driver/Guide, will take
care of all your needs from beginning to end.

Day 0 En route

Our imaginations are filled with safari dreams as we soar through the skies, bound for Africa.

Day 1 ARUSHA: coffee lodge

In the midst of a coffee plantation in Arusha, the Arusha Coffee Lodge is a secluded haven of tranquility
to unwind after a long flight.
Despite its proximity to the equator, Arusha's elevation of 4,600 feet provides the city with a blooming
beauty and a serenity that is remarkably soothing. It's best to sit on the veranda of our Plantation Suite
after a relaxing swim, looking up at imposing Mount Meru, a 14,980 feet volcano, which dominates the
backdrop of this beautiful city.

Days 2 & 3 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK: luxurious treehouses

We will begin our morning with a delicious breakfast served with some of the finest and the best local
coffee. Next, our driver-guide will brief us on the safari and prepare us for a thrilling drive to Tarangire,
where we will be staying for the next two nights at Tarangire Treetops. It doesn't get any better than this
when it comes to luxury in the bush. A thousand-year-old baobab forms the centerpiece of Treetops'
main lodge. This lodge is home to twenty beautifully constructed tree houses which are elevated for the
purpose of providing spectacular views of the park.. There is something magical about these charming
tree houses. They are exceptionally large, airy, and beautifully decorated.

Tarangire's lush, baobab-clad savannah also offers an ideal setting for just about every species of African
wildlife,, as well as a few rare animals, like kudu and oryx, along with the 2,500 elephants that roam the
region. Our day out in the bush will be spent spotting wildlife and admiring some of the 550 species of
birds as they cavort in the trees of Tarangire, with a chance to witness more amazing creatures during a
night drive, always a delightful experience.

Days 4 & 5 NGORONGORO CRATER: the world's largest inactive caldera

As we drive north from Tarangire, we pass Lake Manyara on our way up into the Crater Highlands to
Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge.

After a wonderful night's sleep, we will descend to the crater floor to encounter lions, elephants, black
rhinos and just about every exotic wildlife found in East Africa, before returning to the lodge for dinner
overlooking one of the planet's most beautiful landscapes.

Days 6, 7 & 8 THE SERENGETI: Lion country and endless plains

Here we are, ending this short, but undoubtedly spectacular safari in the Serengeti. An unspoiled
paradise and serenity awaits us in this rare setting. The sky is immense, blue, and pure and as huge as
the beginning of time. An imposing lion stands facing the sun on one of the Serengeti's kopjes: strange
boulder like hill in a landscape where the horizon seems to continue to infinity.

We will spend the nights at Serengeti Migration Camp, a kopje-like setting tucked into the rocks over the
Grumeti River. Besides the 20 tents, the main lodge features a pool, a restaurant, and a lounge. The
decks surrounding each tent feature panoramic views of the naturally breathtaking landscape for miles
in every direction. Hippos, who sometimes seem like otherworldly creatures, rarely disperse on the
Grumeti, but here they are, rumbling pods of them and crocodiles, who wait their turn like the
prehistoric beasts they are.
Days 9 & 10 Gameviewing, back to Arusha and homeward

Our final game drive will end with breakfast served at Migration Camp. If we are lucky, we may be able
to locate the Little Five. Some of the most exquisite miniature species are rhinoceros beetles, buffalo
weaver, leopard tortoises, ant lions, and elephant shrews.

As such, we must now bid farewell to Tanzania's spectacular bush and the Serengeti. Our flight back to
Arusha includes a stay at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, relaxing in the day rooms, and maybe taking a pre-
flight swim before we board our homebound planes in the evening to return to our homes on Day 10.

Day 10 Homeward

Arrive in Arusha for a hot lunch, time permitting, before heading to Kilimanjaro Airport to connect to
your onward/return flight

We bid you farewell on reaching the airport and wish you a wonderful journey with the hope of seeing
you back in Africa!
