The 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup season has ushered in a new era for Cat Racing.
For its fifth full season in NASCAR competition, Caterpillar has joined forces with
Bill Davis Racing and driver Ward Burton, becoming the primary sponsor of the
#22 Pontiac Grand Prix. Burton has a prior connection with Caterpillar, having driven
12 NASCAR Busch Series races in 1995 in Cat-sponsored entries.

The new season has been a productive one for the Cat Racing effort in many ways.
On the track, the accomplishments of Ward Burton and the #22 Caterpillar team Ward Burton, driver for the #22 Pontiac Grand Prix
have been evident, highlighted by a thrilling second-place finish at the Las Vegas Caterpillar’s Winston Cup Nascar
Motor Speedway and several top 10 finishes.

It’s still early in the 1999 season, so there are plenty of opportunities to watch and
cheer on the #22 Cat car, either in person or on television. Catch the excitement
