Zack Hubbard : Teacher Work Sample Overview

The unit used for this Teacher Work Sample (TWS) is about Absolutism in 1500s Europe. In
addition, this lesson was taught in the RSU 18 District at Messalonskee High School, and would
span from January 26th. 2022 through February 10th, 2022. This is the first lesson for a new
group of Modern World History students. The topic of Absolutism includes various student
based activities, as simple as labeling and coloring a map of modern-day Europe to
slideshow-driven lecture notes, and even a bit of simulation where students are given roles in
relation to the topic of Absolutism in 1500s Europe. This is a brief unit, and so to encapsulate
student learning, there is one small summative quiz as students through this unit are guided with
various worksheets, note-sheets, and activities that require students to utilize critical thinking to
show comprehensive understanding of the material.
