To whom this may concern,

I am writing to express my interest in the New Graduate Residency Program at St. David’s
Hospital for Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care. With my past work history and passion for
working with children, I am confident that I would make a great contribution to the St. David’s
team.

I have spent the last three years working seasonally in the daycare center at Lifetime Fitness.
This job helped me to find my passion for working with children and I received many trainings
along with on-the-job experience to better communicate with children. It also gave me the
opportunity to talk with and educate parents, which is a vital aspect when working with
children in the acute care setting.

Through my clinical experience in the BSN program at the University of Arizona, I have been
able to use my skills in the clinical setting. I was given the opportunity to work in the NICU,
PICU, general pediatric, and pediatric hematology oncology units during my clinical rotations.
Having spent time on various specialized units gives me a unique perspective on the different
qualities in pediatric nurses. I learned that it is important to possess patience and kindness for
the greater good of the children and their parents.
