General Advice
Crochet in continuous spiral. Work in continuous rounds. Do not join or turn unless otherwise
instructed. In amigurumi most people start with a magic ring (mr). If you do not want to use
this, you can easily start with 2 chain and crochet the first round (usually 6 stitches) in the 2nd
stitch from the hook. Then follows round 2.
Use a stich marker and place it in the first stitch on the row to mark the start of the round .
Move the stich marker to the first stitch of the next round after completing the previous
round.
If color changes are required, this is always done at the end of the previous round.
Crochet the last stitch on the round as follows: Insert the needle into the stitch, turn and pull
up the thread. Switch to the new color and pull through both loops to complete the last stitch.
I recommend using invisible decrease for a nice surface finish: Insert the hook into the front
loop of the 1st stitch and then directly also into the front loop of the 2nd stitch (3 loops on the
hook ).

Yarn over, draw through both front loops on the hook (2 loops on the hook). Yarn over, draw
yarn through both loops on the hook.
When finishing your amigurumi job, there is a difference in the height of the beginning and
end of the final round. This makes the sewing of the pieces more difficult. To smooth this
out, crochet a chain stitch in the next stitch, then an chain stitch, cut the yarn and pull the
end of the yarn through the next stitch. You can easily sew the pieces together by leaving a
long end of the yarn on each piece.
