Equipment readiness

According to David Verhagen (2017) Efficient equipment management is critical for lowering
project lead time, inventory, as well as personnel expenses. A significant amount of effort goes into
developing an asset maintenance plan that combines all of the technical and administrative measures
implemented throughout the life cycle of a piece of equipment with the goal of preserving and restoring
its readiness to perform its required function. Due to the aging and wear of the existing electrical
equipment in the power system, as well as the rapid technological change, timely and appropriate
decisions (maintenance, repair, relocation, refurbishment, replacement) for moral or/and physically
damaged components, as well as the addition of supplementary elements (features), including the
introduction of new technologies, are required for ZAMECO II.

Facilities and equipment that are worn out, defective, or out of date tend to impair morale and
productivity. They can also leave a negative impression on clients or prospects that visit your business.
With continuously evolving technology, it is critical for ZAMECO II to keep hard assets and equipment
up to date and in proper working order. Downtime can be costly, costing more in the long run than
frequent upgrades. A proposed investment plan is propounded. The safety of employees are also
dependent on how well the equipment are working. Electrical equipment should always be well
maintained and cared to avoid having equipment failure. It is very important for an electric provider such
as ZAMECO II to have the proper equipment and properly trained employees in order to have successful
safety measures.

Measures to be used in assessing equipment readiness includes considering the Equipment's Age.
The equipment does not age gracefully. The older the equipment, the more significant the repairs will be.
This frequently results in greater maintenance expenditures. As repairing it continues, the machine will
provide less and less for the company’s repair expenditure. Replacing an outdated, inefficient piece of
equipment with a modern, technologically updated model that will provide greater efficiency and lifespan
is considered. Also the Maintenance activity and repair costs, What are the repair expenses, and more
importantly, how frequently will the company be paying those repair charges? Documenting asset repair
events offers information on the quantity and frequency of breakdown incidents, as well as the expenses
associated with the repairs.

Safety

ZAMECO II is an electric provider, which means it is not new for the employees and
other related parties to face danger in their line of work that is why ZAMECO II puts safety above all
else. Safety is embedded within the organization's policies and procedures as well as to their day to day
routine.
Safety can be measured through the number of incidents, nature of incidents and how well the
organization reacts if an incident happens. Every organization should impose proper measures in order for
them to lessen or fully avoid incidents from happening. Power interruptions, power outage and other
incidents are well documented and proper guidelines are being executed within ZAMECO II. Another
way to measure the success in safety is the proper training and experience. Since ZAMECO II cater a
significantly large area, it is very important to be trained and experienced on what to do in any incident
that might happen. With these information ZAMECO II can be equipped and ready to avoid any further
complications.
