briefly summarizes the chapter?

● Did I incorporate direct quotes from the chapter as evidence where appropriate?

● Did I write clear and relevant commentary to explain my ideas and their significance?

● Did I end the essay with a strong conclusion that makes the essay feel complete?

Use this rubric to determine how well you're meeting the criteria for the assignment.

In The Grapes of Wrath we can see that the story tells about a time where the lands that
produced food or things to live on were properties of the high command of the regions or
could be called the rulers, the istoria focuses on a family that the protagonist is a man who
works the land to support his family. He talks about his dissatisfaction with the situation that
the fields or lands that they have do not belong to them but that the owners are the banks
that they call "monsters" and the leaders of the region, he shows his disgust towards it by
saying that it is not fair that what proves the ownership of the land is a document. He

believes and says that the lands should belong to the one who works and makes them grow,
not from a person who only collects the rent and that if they do not pay their rent, they send
someone who drives a tractor to ruin their harvest and leave them without which to subsist.

At one point in history, he refuses to pay his rent and says that he is going to face the person
who is going to destroy his harvest and it was a person that the protagonist knew ... to
realize what was happening and who he was. He asked him why he joined the monsters, his
answer was "I have to work and support my family" , that working on the land was not going
to give him enough resources to support his family, he was offered payment 3 dollars per
house or crop that he will ruin. there we can see that the rulers took advantage of the needs
of other people and I think that is not right.

As history passes, they manage to displace all the farmers where they already begin to ruin
the lands and crops by putting chemicals on them and the people could not resist that, they
did not let them go to take the things that were still useful.
