Zone 10 - Planting Chart - Kellogg Garden Products
Zone 10 - Planting Chart - Kellogg Garden Products
The Kellogg Garden Planting Charts detail the most common plants successfully grown in each zone, with planting and harvesting information for USDA Hardiness Zones 1 - 10. You may find plants that are not listed
in our charts can be grown in your area or that plants that we list can be started earlier or due to weather can't be started until later. Through the use of hoophouses, row covers, indoor seed starting and growing,
greenhouses, and varying microclimates gardeners can successfully start plants earlier or grow plants that are not traditionally grown in their area. Check on the back of seed packets, plan around local weather
changes, and reach out to fellow local gardeners and resources before planting. Make adjustments to the charts to fit your microclimate and/or growing preferences.
Once you have copied the charts and saved them to your Google files you can edit, add, and change any information to fit your individual gardening practices.
1 EDIT SHEET Click on file under the sheet title, click make a copy in the dropdown menu, name your copy, and click OK.
2 DUPLICATE TABS To duplicate tabs, right click tab, click duplicate, name new tab
3 ADDING TABS To add tabs, simply click the plus icon below the sheet, a new blank sheet will appear, right click tab to rename it.
4 EDITING ROWS To add a row, right click on any cell, click insert 3 rows. Each chart row is 3 rows combined. We did this so we could display the sowing, planting, and harvesting information more accurately.
5 MERGE ROWS To merge rows, select top row, use shift and click on bottom row to select all 3 rows, then click on the merge cells icon [- -] above the sheet to merge the rows
Copy merged cell and paste in the other cells you would like to merge in that row.
6 GARDEN LAYOUT The garden layout tab is an area that you can use to design your garden. Add beds, containers and notes to plan, maintain, and care for your garden.
7 LAYOUT EDITING To represent garden beds, you can select cells by clicking and dragging your cursor, select the merge cells icon [- -] above the sheet to the merge the cells.
Outline the borders of your merged cells.
For our use we equated one cell to 1 foot.
8 RESOURCES The resources tab contains links to articles and videos to help you plant, grow, harvest, protect, and preserve your garden plants. You will also find gardening
guides and an article on how to find local garden resources in your area.
