In this activity, my students are going to use Canva to create a coloring sheet on triangles.
Pedagogy Planning
Activity
• The teacher will have already taught the students about the
different types of triangles. The teacher will assign a formative
assessment to conclude the lesson to access students’
knowledge of triangles thus far. The teacher will assign each
student an iPad and will instruct the student to an app called
Canva.

• The teacher will explain the basics of using Canva on the iPad
and will explain the assignment. The teacher will explain that the
students will need to design and create a coloring sheet on
triangles. The students may go about this any way that they
would like but they must include at least one of each type of
triangle, acute, obtuse, right, scalene, equilateral, and isosceles,
as well as must provide a color code on their coloring sheet.

• Students will use Canva to create their coloring sheet by using


the shapes provided on Canva or by drawing with their finger or
stylus. The coloring sheet should be saved to the iPad and
posted onto Google Classroom as an image.

• After the students have created their coloring sheet, the teacher
will download the coloring sheets from Google Classroom and
print them out. The students will have the choice to color their
own or color a peers coloring sheet.

• The activity will be graded upon accuracy, the use of technology,


the use of all triangles, the coloring of a sheet, and the inclusion
of a color code.

Rubric: (100 points)


• Accuracy (30 points)
• One of each type of triangle (20 points)
• Inclusion of color code (20 points)
• Tech used appropriately (20 points)
• Colored own or peers coloring sheet (10 points)

Option Tool: Canva
- Canva is both an app and a website. The app can be obtained for
free on the Apple store and Google Play.
- If Canva was not available, there are plenty of drawing apps that
could have easily replaced it, such as “Sketchbook”, “SketchBook
Pro”, etc..
