period of time. Sales reports can be prepared daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly

Sales report are most useful when the current performance is compared to both a target and a past
reference period. Our free sales report template enables you to track

your revenues against a budget and a past reference period.

The reference period is usually the previous month for non-seasonal businesses and the same month
of the preceding year for seasonal trades. The idea here is to compare

the current sales against the most recent comparable period.
