Lesson Guide
1. Differentiated Instruction (45 min.)
Teacher Conferences
Dream Catcher Craft
Before Class
Follow the instructions on Dream Catcher PDF and make
your own dream catcher to show students.

Dream Catcher PDF should be printed on heavy stock

white paper.

* During this lesson, while the FT is conferencing with

students about the first drafts of their event paragraphs
they submitted at the beginning of Week 3, CT will be
supervising students as they make their own dream
catchers.

During Class
Explain to students that today you will talk to them
individually about the paragraphs they wrote last week.
Read Teacher Conferencing PDF for conferencing
guidelines.

Display Dream Catcher PDF and show them your

completed dream catcher. Explain to students that while
you are conferencing with students, they will be making
their own dream catchers. Go over the steps listed on
Dream Catcher PDF.

Distribute Dream Catcher PDF, crayons/markers,

yarn/ribbon, and scissors to students and allow them to
begin. When a student is ready to have holes punched in
his dream catcher, CT should punch (or otherwise cut) the
holes for him.

If students finish making their dream catcher, allow them to

play Full House. Cf. Week 3 Period 2 Stage 5 for
instructions.
