ALLAHABAD STATE UNIVERSITY, PRAYAGRAJ at J0.2018 Rules for Promotio: Professional Courses 1. Preamble 1.1 In order to unify and regulate promotion in professional courses, namely B.B.A, B.C.A, LL.B, B.A.LL.B, B.Ed., B.P-Ed., B.Se.(Ag), B.Sc. (Biotechnology), M.Ed., M.P.Ed, M.Sc.(Ag) and the like rum in university campus or in affiliated colleges, these rules are being framed and will be part of ordinance of said courses. 1.2. These Rules will come into effect from first semester of session 2018-19, 2. General Rules : Improvement, Back Paper and Promotion 3.1 All those candidates who pass a semester examination (under rule 2.1 stated above) can appear for improvement only in two theory papers if number of theory papers of semesters of that course is four, and in three theory papers in case the number of theory papers of semester of that course is more than four theory papers. 3.2. Ifa candidate secures minimum marks in all theory papers but fails to secure aggregate marks then candidate is eligible for promotion but he/she will be allowed to appear in examination in only two theory papers if number of theory papers of semester of that course is four and three theory papers in case the number of papers of semester of that course is more than four theory papers. 3.3 If a candidate fails to secure minimum marks in two theory papers in case the number of theory papers of that semester is four and in three papers in case the number of theory papers of that semester is more than four & secures aggregate marks will be promoted in the next semester & be allowed to clear these papers in subsequent semesters, ‘i 3.4 Ifa candidate fails to secure minimum ‘marks in practical/viva voce or remains absent in practical/viva voce, then he/she will be promoted and will be given another one chance only after paying fee prescribed by the university in subsequent semester to clear practical/viva voce examination, ye a ce 3.5 A candidate is required to secure minimum marks in theory and practical/viva voce separately for passing the semester. Student passed in examination of any semester will not appear in the exemination of that semester a fresh. His/her marks of that semester will remain reserve which he/she has already passed. 3.7 After the examination of final year, if any student fails to clear his/her back paper(s) in any semester then the student may re-appear in the examination of concerned semester to be held in order and clear that paper(s). This facility will be given only once to students. However, if the student again fails to clear that paper(s), he/she may appear in regular examination of the concemed semester next year as ex-student. 3.8 Results will be declared after combining total of marks secured by candidate in subsequent year (all the semesters) as per following norms : First Division: 60% of maximum marks or more. Second Division : 45% of minimum marks or more but less than 60% of the maximum marks, 3.09 Specifically, promotion to next semester/year will be governed as per following: 3.09.1 For promotion to second semester the status of first semester will be passed or carryover. 3.09.2 For promotion to third semester the status of first academic year i. both first and second semesters will be carryover or pass, 3.09.3. For promotion to fourth semester the status of previous three semesters will be carryover or pass, 3.09.4. For promotion to fifth semester or third year the candidate must have cleared in first year examinations i.e. first and second semesters. 3.09.5, For promotion to seventh semester or fourth year; the candidate must have cleared its second year examination i.e. third and fourth semesters. 3.09.6, For promotion to ninth semester or fifth year, the candidate must have cleared third year examination i.e, fifth and sixth semester. ae cu Prof. (R.B.S.
