Recently, Underwater Communication has become more and more popular because of its

benefits for sea observation in general, and for information transmission in particular.
Underwater Communication is kind of technology which is developed with the original purposes
of underwater observation as well as in subsea monitoring. This system includes both functions
of sending and receiving messages in submarine environment. There are two main ways to
transmission data below water: wireless and wired, and also it exits three carriers being
applicable for undersea communication that are acoustic waves, microwaves and optical waves.
Underwater communication is an emerging topic in research community and attracts interest
from many countries all over the world. Therefore, many achievements and techniques have
been developed. For instance, JANUS, a NATO standard for digital undersea acoustic
communication has been launched since 2017, which has been considered as a mark for relevant
studies later.
However, developing undersea communication technology has still had some problems, one of
which is the dependence on physical features of water channels. This impacts on the reliability
and quality of data transmission. Although there are many previous studies on the system, the
considerable successes are still limited, which additionally leads to this research.
As I mentioned before, underwater communication has many advantages. This is mostly applied
for commercial sea resource exploration, military communication and satellite-to-submarine
communication. Moreover, it is used in other areas such as harbor protection, volcano
surveillance, disaster prediction and so on. Hence, this is still the field that requires more concern
and development.
