What is the exam syllabus?

The exam is based on Course 1 of the main program i.e. Data Toolkit

Here are the modules which you need to revise for the exam.
1) Programming in Python
2) Database design & Introduction to MySQL
3) Python for Data Science
4) Data Visualization in Python
5) Exploratory Data Analysis
6) Inferential Statistics
7) Hypothesis Testing
8) Advanced SQL

What is the duration of the exam?

The total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes

The exam is for how many marks?

Exams for the course will be of 50 marks

What is the mode of the exam ?

It would be an online proctored exam ( closed book). You will be required to keep the
webcam on at all times and every movement you make will be monitored. Even if you
change the tab, the exam moderator will get notified and you will be logged out of the exam
and marked as fail.

What is the format of the exam?

It's an online proctored exam
30 SCQs - 1 mark each (30 Marks)

4 coding questions - 5 marks each ( 20 Marks)

What are the minimum criteria to pass the exam?

Just like every graded element's passing criteria, you need a minimum 20% to pass the
exam.
Important Note:
Those who fail to meet the passing criteria of 20% each in all the Graded Modules,
Assignment and Case Study, they will have to score a minimum 50% in this online exam to
pass by using their Grade Improvement Opportunity. (GIO can be used only once during the
entire program). Sharing the below policy for reference:
Which email ID should I use for the exam?
You need to take the exam from upGrad registered email ID only

Can I take the exam anytime after I receive the link?

The exam link gets activated only at the mentioned time of the examination

Can I have sample papers or mock tests?

IIIT-B does not provide the sample papers or mock tests. The questions in the exam are
similar to the ones that you attempt on the learning platform, both coding and SCQs.

Are we allowed to browse for coding question syntaxes?

No, since this is a proctored exam, you are not allowed to refer to any material, online or
offline

Will there be any questions from preparatory courses?

Since the preparatory course covers the basics of the program, it is advisable to revise it.

Will there be any questions from the optional modules references section?
None

Is there a partial marking scheme in the exam?

No, it will either be a correct answer or an incorrect answer. No marks will be given for
partially correct answers.

Will there be a break given during the exam ?

No, there wouldn’t be any break given. Kindly prepare yourself accordingly for the exam.

What if there are power cuts or broadband connectivity issues during the exam?
