1. *Safety Precautions
GENERAL
All work activity must comply with Otis Worldwide Jobsite Safety Standards (WWJSSS)
and local safety rules. Prior to commencement of work, read the entire procedure and
complete a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). If you are unsure about the work task at hand,
immediately stop work and consult with your supervisor.

4. Preparation
4.1 Notify customer of planned work activity.
4.2 Prepare tools and materials.
4.3 Prepare JHA and personal protective equipment (PPE).
4.4 Capture the car, remove from group service.
4.5 Place appropriate signs and barricades to avoid unexpected access.
4.6 Confirm all landing doors are closed, and there is no passenger in car.
4.7 Enter the machine room, power off the main power, test & verify 0 energy, then LOTO.

5. Work Instructions

Identify the board which should be changed the chip in the controller.
There are two kinds of board need to change the chip.
One is COCO-MCB, another is LMCSS-MCB.

2 Find out the chip which should be replaced in the board.


It is a dual 32-pin chip, as shown in picture.
For COCO-MCB, The chip is located in U24 slot.
For LMCSS-MCB, The chip is located in U37 slot.

Do not discard the

properly for three

operating properly
before discarding it.

6. Final work
6.1 Run the elevator in inspection speed, if there is no problem, turn to normal speed, and
confirm everything is OK.
6.2 Return to service and notify customer.
