Basic rules to be followed for the English Language Paper

1. Do not begin sentences with And/But/So/Because

2. Paragraphs are compulsory.
3. Do not write extra-long sentences. Shorter sentences tend to have less
errors.
4. Missing punctuations and missing capital letters cost you marks.
5. No contractions to be used—
Don’t, can’t, I’ll, I’m, couldn’t, shouldn’t, etc---all wrong.
Write--- do not, cannot, I will, I am, could not, should not, etcetera
6. All words to be written in full.
7. All sentences to be written in full. Each sentence must have a subject,
a verb and a predicate. Remember this is not a conversation—written
language has to be formal.
8. Learn your formats
9. All numericals to be written in full words. Example—three thousand
ducats. Only exception to this rule are dates. You do not have to write
twenty twenty-two---you can write 2022.
10.Spellings must be correct.
11.Anyways is not correct. Write –anyway.
12.If you are using ‘so’ in a sentence ensure ‘that’ is a part of it.
13.Proposal measures must be written in the future tense. The simple
logic being---it is a proposal for the future, which if accepted will get
into motion. Please practice based on the Whatsapp upload yesterday.
14.The proposal format must be learnt well.
15. Please collect data of possible reports, films, books, (genres), events,
speech(themes), SOPs and Personal profile (university details).
Factually incorrect writing makes a very shabby impression.
