ASSESSMENT 1:

 21st Century Literature characteristics can be present in both


graphic and flash fiction. The themes are current and universal
since they are both written recently. As time goes by,
unconventional structure or layout can be seen in modern literature
because some writers develop changes in the writing industry. It
has thematic messaging because most writers ensure that their
literary works can provide knowledge and ideas to the readers.
Moreover, it does not rely on many words because a writer's ability
to convey ideas to the reader is more crucial.

ASSESSMENT 2:
 Graphic fiction uses images or pictures to encourage interactivity in the
minds of the reader as fill in the blanks between image panels. The pictures
are arranged in sequence in image panels, and dialogues are written in
speech bubbles to allow the readers to imagine and experience the characters
and events in the story. It is a short narration since graphic fiction uses
image panel. Perhaps, flash fiction presents the story with less than 1000
words, and it's written in paragraph form and it has a solid plot since it
emphasizes the development of the storyline. In addition, it has a surprising
ending because the twist is at the end of the story.

2. The characteristics of the stories that make them different are in
the story “My Freaking Alarm”, the story illustrated with images,
has panels and short narrations. While in the story “The Unlucky
Winners”, the story is written in paragraph form, uses few words to
develop the plot and has an unexpected ending.
