I. TITLE:
STREAMLINING THE DELIVERY OF BASIC EDUCATION
IN THE NEW NORMAL
II. RATIONALE:

School Year 2021-2022 can be considered the most challenging in the history of
Philippine Education. This paved the way for schools to transition to various pedagogical and
instructional delivery systems that may be adopted. Schools are considering novel alternative
modalities in education that would cater to the needs of the learners.

Carigara National High School, true to its commitment of serving its clientele to
the highest level of capacity, had explored various innovations and interventions to deliver its
basic service of imparting knowledge to its students. The school is adopting the modular
approach, both printed and digital. To further enhance its services, the school is now exploring
another innovative technique thru the use of video-aided learning resources. These LRs will be
given to the learners through flashdrives or thru the class group chats using the facebook
messenger application.

The contextualized Budget of Lessons (BOL) will guide the teachers in the
process of creating the said LRs. BOL is a resource material for teaching that contains K to 12
basic education curriculum competencies, skills, and objectives; and teaching strategies,
activities, and the date of execution arranged into columns for easy reference and notation. It
will serve as teacher’s reference in preparing weekly home learning plans.

The created LRs play a vital role in students’ learning and development. Quality
LRs are pivotal to help students learn effectively at a distance. That is why quality assurance of
the teacher-made LRs is a crucial process. In this trying time, distance education systems had
been established to expand access to learning, using a variety of technology. The philosophy of
distance education is based on the value that it removes barriers to learning, and it allows for
flexibility for students to learn what they want, when they want, and where they want (COL,
2005).

Assessment of learning is an essential feedback mechanism in education which

allows the stakeholders to understand what is being learned and where learning resources need to
be focused. Assessment of learning may take diverse modalities subject to its purpose. An
overview and analysis of DepEd Order No. 031, s. 2020 otherwise known as the Interim
Guidelines for Assessment and Grading in Light of the Basic Education Learning Continuity
Plan is imperative.

The pandemic happen when our immunity is compromised. An apparent

unsustainable and stressful lifestyle leads to abridged immunity. This training will also attempt to
show how both sustainable lifestyle and less stress living can be achieved through spirituality.

And in future if the mankind needs to avoid repetition of such eventualities then we need to
practice spirituality.
There is no denying that teachers play a vital role in the society and are
considered one of the keys to sustainable global development. In this time pandemic, they can
also be considered as heroes for they too are at frontlines. To revitalize this passion to guide
learners attain lifelong skills is essential today as some may experience frustrations, burnouts and
the like.

Verily, the learning environment in this school year is entirely different. But this
training-workshop will make the participants optimistic and have a paradigm shift of thinking
that despite the atrocities, the divergent socio-economic status of the learners’ families and their
peculiar needs, the teachers are still the main elements that can provide accessible, quality and
responsive basic education in the new normal.

III. OBJECTIVES:

innovative mechanism in the new normal.
