A.O.2 Experiment with and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes,
reviewing and refining your ideas as your work develops.
Comment: Well done for showing your before and after edits for this project, it’s helpful to
compare the two and to see how you’ve edited your images. It would be nice to see you have a
go at using the studio and the lighting for your still life shoots. This will show more skill and
experimentation in your work which will improve your mark for AO2. As mentioned last lesson
start using your screen to check that your image is fully in focus.
Targets to improve:
Show more evidence of experimentation with ideas, techniques and processes; e.g. correct
lighting, focus, ISO, shutter speed, Aperture, exposure compensation, light painting, photograms
and darkroom processing, where relevant relevant.
Clear evidence and step-by-step process of any editing and post-production, such as Photoshop. 13/18
Work with more purpose and show your ability to refine skills/techniques.
Present all contact sheets and visual experiments on online platform, A1 boards and sketchbooks.
A.O.3 Record in visual and/or other forms ideas, observations and insights relevant to your
intentions, demonstrating an ability to reflect on your work and progress.
Comment: You write thorough shoot plans and you clearly see a ‘journey’ through this project.
Your intentions are made clear throughout the project and it’s presented coherently. Just make
sure you annotate your contact sheet with camera settings and thoughts on composition, lighting
etc…
Targets to improve:
Record and present a range of photographs and research relating to the theme.
Collate and present your visual research with purpose and correctly positioned pages for projects
so it is easy to navigate your website. 14/18
