B. LESSON PROPER

1. ACTIVITIES
1.1 Activity 1 • Expectations...expectations....
Today, our topic is about brainstorming or finding your research
topics. Having said that, what do you think are the lesson or
learnings that you expect from this class? Give at least one word or
group of words.
Presentation of • Upon stating your expectations let us see if they go along with our
objectives lesson objectives for the day. (The teacher presents the lesson objectives)

to PR2?
2. How did you gather data in PR1 compared to PR2?
3. How did you analyzed and treated your data in PR1? What
about PR2?
Reinforcement/ Affirmation: (Presentation of pptx by the teacher)

2. ANALYSIS • Lead Questions:

1. Which picture struck your interest? Why?
2. Do you think issues and concerns related to these pictures can

With those topics in front of you, you can perform some general
research to finalize your choice. Read some general information on the
top two or three choices you made.
ü Focus on the Chosen Topic
Here are some of the things you need to focus on when choosing your
topics for high school research papers:
§ Make sure it is not too broad or too narrow
Limit your topic by timeframes, culture, area, population group,
discipline, etc.
Define it as a research question
Start with a keyword and define your topic in the form of a research
question. This will help you with the creation of the thesis statement, as
well as the entire writing process.
3.2 Deepening of the Lesson Discussion

4. APPLICATION Activity 1: Push that Tuck!!!
ü Let’s go back to the pictures presented to you a while ago. Give
(at least) one sentence that would explain a picture you chose.
ü Let’s try to reformat your sentence and make it your Research
Topic
ü Added bonus!!! If you try to transform this declarative sentence
into interrogative, that will give you your Research Question (RC)

Activity 2: Assessment (Informal Formative)

As a way for us to help your classmates to come up with the research
they can finish within this semester, with the declarative statements given
to you by your classmates about the topic they chose for their Research
Project.. You can give your honest assessment if they observe the
following rubrics:
Modified Rubric for Research Topic

Criteria for Evident Quite evident Not evident

Research Topic (5) (3) (1)

C. ASSIGNMENT Motive Question:

What do you think is the importance of coming up with a very good and
researchable topic before going deeper into our research project?

1. For your group work, start searching for your Review of Related
Literature (RRL) and write them in a tabular form following the APA
citation.
2. Minimum number of RRL per student is 10
3. The group leader will have to collate this and submit it in our
GClasswork.
