● Human dignity is the belief that all people

treating them the way we’d like to be treated

DEFINITION OF HUMAN SEXUALITY

● "Sexuality is a fundamental component of
personality, one of its modes of being, of
manifestation, of communicating with
others, of feeling, of expressing and of living
human love". (Sacred Congregation for
Catholic Education)
● Sexuality characterizes man and woman not

only on the physical level, but also on the
psychological and spiritual, making its mark
on each of their expressions. Such diversity,
linked to the complementarity of the two
sexes, allows thorough response to the design
of God according to the vocation to which
each one is called.
ISSUES THAT DISRESPECT HUMAN

DIGNITY AND SEXUALITY
ADULTERY
● Art. 333. Who are guilty of adultery. —
Adultery is committed by any married
woman who shall have sexual intercourse
with a man not her husband and by the man
who has carnal knowledge of her knowing
her to be married, even if the marriage be
subsequently declared void.
PREMARITAL SEX (Pakikipagtalik bago ang

kasal)
● It is the sexual activity of a woman and man
who are not of the legal age or are of the legal
age but are not yet married.
● Catholicism equates pre-marital sex with
fornication.
● Fornication, as defined by the CCC, is carnal
union between an unmarried man and an
unmarried woman. It is gravely contrary to
the dignity of persons and of human sexuality
which is naturally ordered to the good of
spouses and the generation and education of
children. Moreover, it is a grave scandal
when there is corruption of the young.
CORRUPTION OF MINORS
● Art. 340. Corruption of minors. — Any

person who shall promote or facilitate the
prostitution or corruption of persons
underage to satisfy the lust of another, shall
be punished by prision mayor, and if the
culprit is a pubic officer or employee,
including those in government-owned or
controlled corporations, he shall also suffer
the penalty of temporary absolute
disqualification. (As amended by Batas
Pambansa Blg. 92).

● Republic Act 8353: The Anti-Rape Law of
1997 “Article 266-A. Rape: When And How
Committed. – Rape is committed:”
● 1.) By a man who shall have carnal

knowledge of a woman under any of the
following circumstances:
a. Through force, threat, or intimidation;

b. When the offended party is deprived of
reason or otherwise unconscious;
c. By means of fraudulent machination or
grave abuse of authority; and
d. When the offended party is under
twelve (12) years of age or is
demented, even though none of the
circumstances mentioned above be
present.
2.) By any person who, under any of the

circumstances mentioned in paragraph 1 hereof,
shall commit an act of sexual assault by inserting his
penis into another person’s mouth or anal orifice, or
any instrument or object, into the genital or anal
orifice of another person.
PROSTITUTION
● It is where “short-term pleasure” is provided
in exchange for money.
● Women who, for money or profit, habitually
indulge in sexual intercourse or lascivious
conduct, are deemed to be prostitutes (Art.
202 of the Anti-Prostitution Law).
● It is a form of sexual exploitation and
violence against women and girls, and is a
human rights violation. It is an exploitative
system that commodifies, objectifies and
dehumanizes women, men, and children who
are being sold within it. It reinforces the
subordinate status of the more vulnerable
individuals in conditions of poverty,
especially women and young girls, as it
serves the instant sexual gratification of the
more privileged “clientele” who are mostly

male.

● The Sixth Commandment commands us to be
pure and modest in our behavior.
● It forbids all impurity and immodesty in
words, looks and actions, whether alone or
with others.
9TH COMMANDMENT
“You shall not covet your neighbor's wife” - Exodus
20:17
● The Ninth Commandment commands us to
be pure in thought and desire.
● The 9th commandment forbids all thoughts
and desires contrary to chastity. That is to
say, it forbids all willful thoughts. We know
that no thought can be a sin unless it is
willful. A willful thought is one we want, one
we take deliberate pleasure in and do not try
to put out of our minds.
CHASTITY
● Chastity means the successful integration of
sexuality within the person and thus the inner
unity of man in his bodily and spiritual being.
Sexuality, in which man's belonging to the
bodily and biological world is expressed,
becomes personal and truly human when it is
integrated into the relationship of one person
to another, in the complete and lifelong
mutual gift of a man and a woman.
● The virtue of chastity therefore involves the
integrity of the person and the integrality of
the gift. (CCC, 2337).
● Chastity mean purity in our thoughts, words,

and actions by putting our sexual drives in
order, controlling them, and having an
integrated sexuality. It means the acceptance
of who we are as man or woman and

understanding of our being embodied spirits.
It is a spiritual energy that enables, sustains,
and keeps us in love with others overcoming
our selfish desires and it includes our self
mastery.
● The virtue of chastity comes under the
cardinal virtue of temperance, which seeks to
permeate the passions and appetites of the
senses with reason. (CCC, 2341)
● Chastity is a moral virtue. It is also a gift from
God, a grace, a fruit of spiritual effort. (CCC,
2345)
