GUIDELINES FOR LESSON PLANNING


Aim  Think about the LO.
 Ensure the lesson plan teaches students the CONTENT and the SKILL
 Ensure that it is actually the STUDENTS demonstrating the skill and not YOU
Learning  Do you need to check students’ prior knowledge before your start teaching?
Experiences How will you check, if needed?
 Does EVERY LEs align to (lead directly to) the LO?
 Are the Learning Experiences meaningful and relevant to students’ lives, culture
or interests? What can you say or do to make that connection?
 Is there any part in your plan where students are passive? How can you ensure
that students are actively engaged in the Learning Experiences?
 Are all discussion questions aligned to the LO? Are there any questions not
aligned? How can they be adapted?
 Are you using any discussion strategies to engage all students?
