Rational, objective and scope

During the lockdown and post pandemic evaluating the performance of the employees
became a hard task. What is happening behind the screen and how efficiently are the
employees performing became almost an impossible thing to know. Meeting the deadlines
and being on screen only when required gave them the benefit of doubt of being evaluated on
the basis of the work completed but post pandemic there have to be ways where they are
evaluated on different criteria. Back to offices, did take away the leisure of sitting at home
and working but working during the pandemic also gave them mental stress because of
various reasons such as not being able to go out, having financial constraints and also not
have a serene space to get a balance in life, that became very crucial to touch upon. As there
was no opportunity of working in a professional environment and no work life balance,
during pandemic the fulcrum of life cracked a little. Therefore, post pandemic the workers are
not only looking for salary but also for the perks and benefits that can actually help them at
the time of crises like this and make them more mentally and financially stable.

This research paper is to study the need for change in performance evaluation criteria and
compensation technique. The rationale behind taking this topic for research is to know how
the pandemic has changed the way the employees want to be evaluated. Generally, the
performance evaluation criteria are the work quality, productivity level, target
accomplishment and problem-solving ability. This topic is to know what has changed since in
the pandemic in the organization and how the employee’s performance is now judged. It is
very important to look upon this as this might help the Human Resources of many companies
to know the need to change the performance evaluation criterions and how to evaluate the
employees when work from home is becoming a new normal in many organizations. Now,
there are no excuses needed to work from home and also many companies have agreed to the
idea of allowing employees to work from home. This research paper will help to fill the gap
of what were the criteria that were important to look upon but were missed not knowing the
fact that it was important for employees and how it affected their performance.

The objective of this research paper is to know what new changes could be brought in the
policies and practices of an organization where work from home and informalities in
organization post pandemic is increasing and what different types of compensations and
benefits are asked by the employees to be added in their pay structure. Now, the employees
are focused more towards insurance and social security benefits. The employees are now in
favor of more rewards and incentives for their work and look for appreciation for their
performance. Post pandemic it is seen that the employees cannot be lured with high salary but
now they are also looking for benefits, perks and space where their identity is recognized and
they are known for their individuality in the organization. This research paper is therefore
conducted to know the need for changing the performance evaluation criteria and how to
enhance their performance post pandemic and bring out the maximum efficiency in the
employees and give them recognition for their work done. It is important to know where the
organizations are lacking now and how they can change the compensation packs of different
employees at different levels to make it the most beneficial for the employees as well as the
organizations in the wake of lay off and shift of the employees happening in the market.

The scope of this research paper will be extended to the area where the organizations will
know to bring the changes in the internal practices happening in their organizations and what
will be changes in the policies of the functioning of the organization. It is going to focus on
how Human resources of the organization which is called the most flexible and dynamic
resource of the organization can work upon the compensation plans and benefits of the
employees. This research will help to know what can bridge the gap in the performance
evaluation pre and post pandemic, what was happening and what is needed to be done now.
