How to follow a healthy diet?

1- Eat more vegetables and fruits

Due to the good source of minerals and protein fruits and vegetables are very
important in anyone diet. they also have low calories and rich in fiber that help the
alimentary canal to work probably and prevent constipation.

2-Limit unhealthy fats

It is an important step to reduce your blood cholesterol and lower risk of coronary
artery disease. A high blood cholesterol level can lead to a buildup of plaques in
your arteries, called atherosclerosis, which can increase your risk of heart attack
and stroke.

3-Choose low-fat protein sources

meat, poultry and fish, low-fat dairy products, and eggs are some of your best sources
of protein. But be careful to choose lower fat options, such as skim milk rather than
whole milk and skinless chicken breasts rather than fried chicken patties.
4- Base your meals on higher fibre starchy carbohydrates
1-Starchy carbohydrates should make up just over a third of the food you eat.
They include potatoes, bread, rice, pasta and cereals.
2-Choose higher fibre or wholegrain varieties, such as wholewheat pasta, brown rice or
potatoes with their skins on.
3-They contain more fibre than white or refined starchy carbohydrates and can help you
feel full for longer.
4-Try to include at least 1 starchy food with each main meal. Some people think starchy
foods are fattening, but gram for gram the carbohydrate they contain provides fewer
than half the calories of fat.
5-Keep an eye on the fats you add when you're cooking or serving these types of foods
because that's what increases the calorie content – for example, oil on chips, butter on
bread and creamy sauces on pasta.
