OUR KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) formerly chain of


Central Schools is a system of Central Government schools in India that
are instituted under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource
Development and authorized by the Ministry of Education (MoE),
Government of India. It has 1245 Kendriya Vidyalayas in India and three
abroad Moscow, Tehran and Kathmandu.

Vision of KV
KVS believes in imparting knowledge/values and nurturing the talent,
enthusiasm and creativity of its students for seeking excellence through
high quality educational endeavours.

The system was established on 15 December 1963 under the


name ‘Central Schools’. Later the name was changed to Kendriya
Vidyalaya. A uniform curriculum with National Council of Educational
Research and Training (NCERT) pattern is followed by all Kendriya
Vidyalayas all over India. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan provides a
common syllabus and it also provides a common system of education to
the children of transferable Central Government employees including
Defence and Para-Military personnel. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are
affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is one of
the world's largest chains of schools and also the largest chain of school
in India being controlled by 25 Regional Offices and 05 ZIETs (Zonal
Institute of Education and Training) under KVS (HQ). There are
individual principals of every KV administrating the schools along with a
Vice-Principal, Head Master/ Mistress.

 Now the Kendriya Vidyalaya schools are in a process for


upgradation to "E-Classroom" and e-Learning teaching with the
implementation of Smart Boards in the classroom.
