EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

1. Business Description

According to ElGabry (2019), the word "infrasound" refers to audible sound waves
with frequencies ranging from 0.003 to 20 Hz. Since the historical explosion of the Krakatoa
volcano in 1883, the significance of infrared sound has grown. The rupture or movement of
the ground atmosphere due to earthquakes is one of the natural seismic activity origins.
Hence, Infratech Enterprise aims to create a system that employs infrared technology to
detect geological activity within the ground, namely geological earthquakes. The cutting-edge
technology enables infrasonic initiation, which implies it identifies vibrations below the
frequency of sound waves detectable by humans to warn of geological tremors and sends the
message to us. Furthermore, to provide more in-depth coverage of what the product may do,
the technology permits recognition of seismic waves within the earth's ground, and upon
monitoring motion, it relays the message via an application that consumers can run. The
gadget and the merchandise will be linked via a wireless network, allowing for a better user
interface between the consumer and the application.
This device is appropriate for usage in schools, malls, and other places where an
earthquake alert system is required to ensure the safety of the people present, such as
targeting various crowded places. Our product is made up of two sorts of cube devices that
are linked together to work. 1 transducer cube device and 1 analog cube device, with the
analog cube device being where the customer may connect/insert the power cord to work,
and the digitizer cable is where the consumer can connect to any digitizer accessible. The
transducer, on the other hand, is made up of two parts: the core of the sensor, which is an
aneroid capsule coupled with a magnet and a coil transmitter, and the transducer itself. A
secondary winding wrapped around the main one allows for remote calibration, thus
lengthening the device in order to exclude external factors such as normal shaking of the
building caused by people's movement or vibrations through loudspeakers. After the
transducer and analog cube device are attached, our sensor will be mounted to a 110 mm
thick and 8 m long steel rod. Enough to keep the cables safely contained within the steel rod
that is fastened to our sensor. The battery container and a metal figure resembling a steel
wheel are located at the top of the steel rod. The aim of the steel wheel-like metal figure is to
drill the product below the earth at the consumer's desired depth. Infratech will give the
consumer appropriate software for detecting infrared radiation as well as a battery for the
gadget. Our goods, along with the user's manual, will be packaged in a case.

PRODUCTION PLAN

Purpose of the product

One of the natural seismic activity origins is the rupture or movement of the ground
atmosphere caused by earthquakes. As a result, as pioneers of the earthquake sensor
industry. We, Infratech Enterprise, chose to bio mimic Elephant’s infrasound as a way of using
it as a mode of communication to fortify structural integrity, warn others of impending
danger, coordinate group movement, provide post-earthquake analysis and structural
consultations. Infratech Enterprise provides an innovative, environment, and user-friendly
technology observable by users. Infratech Enterprise intends to develop a system that uses
infrared technology to detect geological activity within the ground, including geological
earthquakes, thus utilizing PHILVOCS Earthquake Intensity Scale (PEIS) as a basis, dividing
them into 3 parts for the alert system scale which identifies the hertz based on a study done
by Tosi, et al., (2012) wherein a minor earthquake identifies with 5 to 60 Hz, moderate with a
60 to 200 Hz, and major with more than 200 Hz. The cutting-edge technology permits
infrasonic initiation, which means it detects and transmits vibrations below the frequency of
soundwaves observable by users to warn of geological tremors. Furthermore, it sends the
message via an application that users can run as identifying the S and P waves through a graph
and a 3D Rendering assessment.

Product Unique Feature over Existing Products

The product that Infratech Enterprise intends to develop is named "GeoWave:

Earthquake Detector." Infratech Enterprise sets itself apart from other companies as it is the
first to develop a product that allows for the identification of earthquake waves. As a result,
the company has established a better solution: we developed a product that enables a post-
earthquake evaluation approach that demonstrates how the earthquake impacted the
surrounding environment. With GeoWave: Earthquake Detector, it can be used in both the
public and private sectors, such as community barangays and educational schools. Another
approach for the enterprise to accurately detect earthquakes is to install it underground, with
a battery and any digitizer device on the market that can be used to link in the sensor. Making
it a user-friendly product and providing an improved message receiver feature is one method
to give our consumers a distinct experience. Infratech Enterprise has also produced GeoWave:
Earthquake Detector to be an environmentally-friendly product since our product is
composed of alloy steels that will not corrode and can help reduce waste production.

E. Process

Step 1: Planning the product's concept

- The 1st step that our company should do is to figure out what’s the concept of our
product, how it can benefit us sellers and also our consumers.

Step 2: Research of our future product

- Next step is to research more of the future product. Conduct a survey, analyze
data, and apply it to our future product.

Step 3: Designing of Product

- The 3rd step is designing the product, this can help our company give a better and
a unique feature in our product.

Step 4: Gathering the materials

- After the necessary preparation for our product we will then proceed to gather the
materials. This is to verify that the correct measurements for the materials are
used in our product.

Step 5: Molding of Cylinder tubes

- Before assembling the product we need to mold the body by turning it into a
cylinder alloy tube through sand casting.

Step 6: Molding of screw-like tip

- After molding the cylinder tubes. We will be molding the screw-like tip through
sand casting.

Step 7: Molding of steering-wheel-like head

- After molding the screw-like tip. We will be molding the steering-wheel-like head
to attach it to the cylinder where the battery compartment is also located.

Step 8: Molding the Sensor’s vessel

- Since almost all of the parts of the product have been molded. Next, will be the
sensor’s vessel.

Step 9: Assembling of the analog pins

- Since we’ve already molded the sensor’s vessel, the next thing to do is to assemble
the analog pins. By putting the printed circuit board below the analog pins vessel
and connecting the power cable inserter to its perspective place together with the
digitizer cable inserter.

Step 10: Assembling of the transducer pins

- After forming the analog pin, the only left to assemble for the sensor to work is to
assemble the transducer pins. Together with the velocity transducer that is
wrapped around with coil, and the aneroid capsule we insert it to the transducer’s
vessel upside down where there is a magnet being attached inside and locked it in
place.

Step 11: Assembling of Sensor

- After assembling the pins, we need to attach them together to assemble the
Sensor.

Step 12: Testing of Battery and cable wires

Results, Interpretation, Analysis, and Recommendations of Survey Questionnaires

Respondents’ Consent to Participate

During the survey, we had asked at the very start if the respondents would consent
to the authorization of the team in using their information for the betterment of the
product. All (100%) respondents answered with ‘Yes’ which is a total of 35 respondents out
of 35 respondents. Moreover, we had ensured the respondents of the terms and conditions
upon consenting, as abided by the Data Privacy Act of 2012

Email of Respondents

As mentioned in the survey, we had asked for consent in allowing the respondents to
give their emails. All 35 respondents (100%) have given consent to fully give their emails.

Name of Respondents

Likewise, we had also asked for consent in allowing the respondents to give their full
names. And truly, all 35 respondents (100%) have given consent to fully give their full
names.

Age of Respondents

The respondents were asked to input their age as part of their consumer profile. The
majority (54.3%) responded with them as 18 years old, followed by many (40%) of the
respondents are 17 years old while a very few (5.4%) responded that they are 16 years old.
The data shows that we have different perspectives and gathered information from the
respondents as the age group ranges from 16 to 18 years old.

Gender of Respondents

The respondents were asked to input their gender as part of their consumer profile.
Majority (51.4%) of the respondents are female and almost half (48.6%) are male. The data
shows that overall, there are more female respondents than male respondents.

Survey Question #1: On a scale of 1-10, how active are the warning signals you receive from
the NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council) about
earthquakes? Where 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest.

In our group’s survey, we were able to obtain 35 respondents to answer our survey.
Now in the first question, we asked them to rate how active they think the warning signals
they receive from the NDRRMC (National Disaster Reduction and Management Council) on a
scale of 1-10, with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. Out of 35 respondents, no
respondents (0%) chose 1 and 2 on the scale. This is followed by very few (2.9%) respondents
choosing 3 on the scale and very few (2.9%) respondents choosing 4 on the scale. Following
that very, few (5.7%) respondents also chose 5 on the scale and very few (11.4%) respondents
chose 6 on the scale. Very few (5.7%) respondents chose 7 on the scale and few (28.6%)
respondents chose 8 on the scale. Few (25.7%) respondents chose 9 and few (17.1%)
respondents chose 10 on the scale. The highest percentage obtained on this question is
28.6%, with 10 respondents answering the 8 on the scale indicating that they think that the
warning signals they receive from the NDRRMC (National Disaster Reduction and
Management Council) are fairly active.

Survey Question #2: What are the common hindrances in receiving earthquake information
messages?
The respondents were asked what are the common hindrances that they have in
receiving earthquake information messages. According to the data, most (88.6%) respondents
answered that the most common hindrance is caused by “delays”. Followed by, a very few (
5.7%) responded that they do not receive any messages as a hindrance for them, while a very
few (2.9%) answered that this is caused by both “delays” and “outdated information”. This
data shows that most people encounter “delays” as the common hindrance in receiving
earthquake information messages. This means that information dissemination is not in an
instant and they are not alerted which does not help them in situations such as encountering
an earthquake.

Survey Question #3: On a scale of 1-10, how much do you know about infrasonic and how
it can be utilized for earthquake detection. Where 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest.
The third question asks the consumers to rate on a scale of 1-10 how much do they
know about infrasonic and how it can be utilized for earthquake detection. Where 1 is the
lowest and 10 is the highest. Out of 35 respondents, no respondent (0%) answered 10. This is
followed by very few (2.9%) respondents who responded 9. Moreover, very few (5.7%)
respondents also chose 1 on the scale and very few (5.7%) respondents answered 3 on the
scale. To add, very few (5.7%) respondents chose 7 on the scale and few (11.4%) respondents
replied with a 6 on the scale, following this, few (14.3%) respondents answered 2 and few
(14.3%) respondents chose 4 on the scale. Furthermore, few (17.1%) respondents answered
with a 6. Continuing on, some (22.9%) respondents answered with an 8 on the scale. Hence,
the highest obtained percentage on the scale from our respondents is 22.9% with 8 current
respondents. Overall, this indicates that their knowledge on utilizing infrasonic for an
earthquake detection system is fairly knowledgeable.

Survey Question #4: What other functions would you like to see in our earthquake
detector?
35 responses were collected, signifying that 35 people answered the survey's fourth
question. The respondents were asked what other function they would like to see in our
earthquake detector. According to the data gathered, some (37.1%) respondents wish to see
both 3D rendering and pre-and post-earthquake analysis as functions in the product.
Followed by a very few (11.4%) responses that they would like to see a Structural analysis
and P and S waves comparison chart as a function in our earthquake detector, while only very
few (3%) chose all of the above options. The data shows that some of the respondents want
3d rendering to help them as technology is a great part of the product and also pre-and post-
earthquake analysis to prioritize how to help them assess the situation for preparing but also
for the aftermath of earthquakes, to be able to know key information of the natural disaster.

Survey Question #5: From the choices below, rate how this product can benefit you with
the first choice being the most beneficial and the 5th being the less beneficial.

The respondents were asked to rate the product on how beneficial it is according to
five factors, Convenience, Quality Performance, Price, Availability, and Environmental Impact,
they were asked to rate it with the “1st Choice” as being the most beneficial and the “5th
choice” as the less beneficial. In the first part of the question with Convenience as the factor,
according to the data, almost half (42.9%) of the respondents answered, “1st Choice” while a
few (28.6%) students answered, “2nd Choice”. Followed by a very few (14.3%) who responded
with “3rd Choice” also very few (5.7%) had an answer of “4th Choice” and very few (8.6%)
respondents chose “5th Choice”. This data shows the convenience of people, as nearly half of
the respondents find this product useful in detecting natural disasters such as earthquakes
this also helps in the ease of accessibility, and tools to save and reduce resources when using
the product. Consequently, shows what is considered to be the most beneficial by the
respondents.
In the second part of the question, the respondents were asked to rate the product
based on Quality Performance. According to the data, a majority (57.1%) of the respondents
had an answer of “1st Choice” while few (28.6%) responded with “2nd Choice”. Followed by a
very few (8.6%) who answered, “3rd Choice and very few (2.9%) had responses of “4th Choice”
and “5th Choice”. In the data that is shown, the majority of the respondents find this product
the most beneficial when it comes to quality performance. This could possibly mean that they
find this product will truly serve its purpose and will satisfy them when using it. The use of
infrasonic activation, which detects noises below the frequency of soundwaves detectable by
humans to warn geological vibrations and relays the message to us when earthquakes are
likely to happen, leads us to think that the quality performance of this product is the most
beneficial towards the consumers.

For the third part of the question, the respondents had to rate the third factor which
is based on the Price. According to the data shown, a few (25.7%) has a response of “2 nd
Choice” while a few (22.9%) respondents settled with both “3rd Choice” and “5th Choice”.
Followed by a few (20.0%) who responded with “1st Choice” and very few (8.6%) who
responded had an answer of “4th Choice”. This data shows that only a few find the price most
beneficial, this could possibly mean that the respondents are on their budgetary means or
their monetary problems but also the respondents are on the fence about whether to invest
in our product. Such that few people responded with “3 rd Choice” and “5th Choice” means
that they are not sure, in their pure choice to invest only this much in our proposed product
as it is an infrasonic gadget and utilizes infrasonic technology and how it performs.

In the fourth part of the question, the respondents were asked to rate based on
Availability. According to data, some (34.3%) respondents had a response of “1st Choice” and
also some (31.4%) answered “2nd Choice”. Followed by a few (14.3%) who had a response
“3rd Choice” with that a few (11.4%) responded with “4th Choice” and very few (8.6%)
answered “5th Choice”. The data shown means that the respondents find the availability of
the product to be most beneficial when the product is available can the need of the
respondent or the consumer be fulfilled. The respondents find it most beneficial as they can
invest in a product that can help their needs such as facing a natural disaster and receiving
information about it. This could also mean that they find it most beneficial as some
responded with “1st Choice” and “2nd Choice” which provides the consumer the consistency
that they will attain a product that can fulfill their need in service, alongside that this could
also possibly mean that the respondents find it most beneficial that a product has good
availability to become a satisfied and assured consumer that what they are investing would
surely benefit them in the long run and would continue to avail.

For the fifth and last part of the question, the respondents rate the product on how
beneficial it is based on Environmental Impact. According to the data, a great majority (77.1%)
of respondents answered, “1st Choice”. A few (14.3%) responded with “3rd Choice” and very
few (2.9%) answered “2nd Choice”, “4th Choice” and “5th Choice”. The data shows that a great
majority of the respondents think that the environmental impact of the product is most
beneficial. It also possibly means that the respondents see to it that the product can help the
environment as it is a sustainable item, developing an innovative, sustainable use of the
product in the environment and day-to-day life. With the results, it can be said that the
respondents know that the product is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and a successful
design without locking in unnecessary environmental impacts such as pollution or creating
more waste but also people find it most beneficial as it truly focuses on helping people in the
environment much more leaning to awareness towards natural disasters such as an

Product Characteristics and Features

One of the natural seismic activity origins is the rupture or movement of the ground
atmosphere caused by earthquakes. As a result, as pioneers of the earthquake sensor
industry. We, Infratech Enterprise, chose to bio mimic Elephant’s infrasound as a way of using
it as a mode of communication to fortify structural integrity, warn others of impending
danger, coordinate group movement, provide post-earthquake analysis and structural
consultations.
Infratech Enterprise provides an innovative, environment, and user-friendly
technology observable by users. The product uses infrared technology to detect geological
activity within the ground, including geological earthquakes. The cutting-edge technology
permits infrasonic initiation, which means it detects and transmits vibrations below the
frequency of soundwaves observable by users to warn of geological tremors. Furthermore, it
sends the message via an application that users can run as identifying the S and P waves
through a graph and a 3D Rendering assessment, this also allows the identification of
earthquake waves. It is established that we developed a product that enables a post-
earthquake evaluation approach that demonstrates how the earthquake impacted the
surrounding environment. Post- consultations from professional architects and engineers
that can help fortify structural integrity and fix bug reports. Application allows for an
immediate contact with emergency hotlines.
The company will take measures to accurately detect earthquakes by installing it
underground, with a battery and any digitizer device on the market that can be used to link
in the sensor. Making it a user-friendly product and providing an improved message receiver
feature is one method to give our consumers a distinct experience. Infratech Enterprise has
also produced GeoWave: Earthquake Detector to be an environmentally-friendly product
since our product is composed of alloy steels that will not corrode and can help reduce waste
production.
