Description: This app lesson will develop 6th grade math students’ grouping with numerical
expressions skills of solving an expression with multiple grouping symbols in one expression.

Instructional Objectives: Students will watch an informative and instructional video on how to
create a line plot consisting of fractions. Students would then convert different measurements
to other measurements. Students will then practice solving volume, perimeter, and area by
making flashcards.

Step 1: Students will watch a video on how to create a line plot consisting of fractions on the
Khan Academy app.

Step 2: Students will practice converting measurements using an Unit Converter app.

Step 3: Students will practice solving volume, perimeter, and area using a flashcard app call
Quizlet. Students will create flashcards for others and themselves to practice with. Students will
then share there flashcards with the class and solve each others equations. Students will then
submit there flashcard to the teacher for an assessment grade.
