financial Aid Reflection

1. Federal Financial Aid - What are the different types of federal financial aid available to
students? How do you apply for federal financial aid? What benefits do students receive
from this type of financial aid?

Filling out a FAFSA application to apply for federal financial help. Loans, grants, and work-study
programs are all examples of government financial help. Grants and work-study programs provide
you with free money that you do not have to repay. Loans are sums of money that must be repaid
at some point.

2. State Financial Aid - What are the different types of state aid available to students? How do you apply
for state financial aid? What benefits do students receive from this type of financial aid?

One can obtain scholarships and grants that do not require you to repay the money, such as an
aloan. The funds will only be used for educational reasons. Filling out applications is how you
apply for this assistance.

3. School Specific Financial Aid - Which schools did you research? Describe one grant or scholarship that
is offered at each school. What benefits do students receive from this type of financial aid?

There's one at the San Diego city college which is $500 it is called the honors program and you
can obtain it if you are qualified for it.

4. Private Scholarships-Describe two scholarships that you found interesting during your research. What
are the benefits of using this type of aid to fund your education?

Two scholarships that I found interesting were the military scholarship in which you only need a
2.5 GPA in which you can get the scholarship if you are related to someone who may be a veteran
and also the legacy scholarship in which it takes one of your parents or grandparents to be an
alumnus of the SDSU and a lifetime member in which there for you qualify for the scholarship.

5. Military Financial Aid - Do you or your family plan to or have served in the military? If so, describe at
least one military financial aid program that is available to you? What benefits do students receive from
this type of financial aid

None of my family is part or related to the military so No financial aid would be available for me.
Most students get tuition assistance.

6. Personal Financial Aid Plan - After reviewing the different types of financial aid available to students,
what plan do you have for covering the costs of post-secondary education? Write a paragraph that
summarizes the total cost you expect to pay for post-secondary education, the sources of aid you plan to
use to cover these costs, and when and how you plan to apply for each program. You may also need to
consider alternate sources of income, such as a college fund or savings plan that has already been set
aside

So far my plans are to apply for financial aid with the FAFSA form and see if I am eligible then
apply to San Diego City College and then apply for scholarships or aid. Therefore I would see
about how much money I would have and If I could get any scholarship in that time so I can
transfer to San Diego state.
