DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORGANIC AND INORGANIC COMPOUNDS
OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the exercise, the students should be able to:
1. Define organic and inorganic compounds.
2. Differentiate organic and inorganic compounds.
MATERIALS REAGENTS
PROCEDURE:
A. Solubility
1. Prepare four (4) clean test tubes and label each with the samples to be used namely NaCl, I , 2
B. Flammability
1. Place approximately 5 mL distilled water in an evaporating dish. Ignite a match and place it in
the evaporating dish.
2. Observe the result
3. Repeat with ethanol
C. Combustibility
1. In a clean evaporating dish, place approximately 1 g sugar crystals.
2. Place the evaporating dish over a Bunsen burner.
3. Ignite the sample and observe.
4. Repeat using NaCl crystals.
