On my last
evening, my colleges gave a farewell party for me. Before it started one
of them said she had a surprise present for me. Then, she asked me for
my bag.

bag back to me until it was over. She came with me to the bus station,
and at the last minute, just before I caught the bus, she pushed the bag
into my hands. “Promise that you won’t look inside until you get home,”
she said.
As I sat down in the bus; I saw that the bag had a small hole at one end.
I put my finger on the hole, and something bit me. I broke my promise
and widened the hole to look inside. A cat jumped out and I dropped the
bag!
I was the only passenger on the bus. The driver laughed when he saw
me trying to catch the kitten but he laughed even more when I caught it
and put it back into the bag. I did not understand why until he stopped at
the next traffic lights. Then he turned round, still laughing. He had
another kitten in his hands!
”Excuse me, sir,” he said, “but is this your cat, too?”
