OBJECTIVE: Congratulations, YOU’RE DONE WITH THE FREAKING SENIOR PROJECT! Summarize your Senior Project
experience by reflecting on your entire process and writing a memoir on your journey.
■ What were the best and worst parts of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar?
The best part was when I would master part of my song and playing it with little difficulty I felt really
productive and accomplished. I also loved playing for my family. Their feedback made me realize my
timing was off. The worst part was at the beginning I was having a hard time hopping on the piano
because I felt like I was just bad at playing and I also hated learning the keys to the piano. It felt like I
was doing homework.
■ List three things you now know after completing your Senior Project.
1. Piano keys
■ Which aspect of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar stretched you the most? How did you feel about and react to
this challenge?
The whole thing was a stretch for me, the closest thing I had to experience was just from listening to
music. I thought I could learn the basics in a few days but it felt so hard I wanted to change my project
but that would defeat the purpose to the commitment I wanted to work on.
■ How has the Senior Project/Senior Seminar changed you (skills, attitudes, work habits, capabilities, confidence,
poise, presentation, etc.)?
I feel like I changed my commitment. I now feel like if I want to do something I can commit to it and I
do feel more confident because of my senior project I was always scared to try something new because
I was going to suck at it but everyone starts from somewhere.
■ Has this experience influenced your future plans?
Career plans no But my future for trying new things yes. I think I like getting out of my comfort zone
and hopefully I can apply this to my career,
■ What would you do differently if you had to do the whole Senior Project/Senior Seminar process again?
I would make sure I start from the keys, notes and finger placement instead of just jumping into
learning songs. I guess I would be more organized.
■ What advice do you have for next year’s seniors?
Do your senior project early just to get over with it and be less stressed.
■ What grade would you give yourself for your Senior Project and what justification do you have for that grade?
A solid C. I feel like I could have seeked more help from experienced people and I don't like how
I approached this. It felt really sloppy but I did get the job done.
