ASSIGNMENT 1: INFOGRAPHIC (10%)

Polymers are widely used advanced materials, which are found almost in every material used in our daily
life. Synthetic and natural polymers could be used in the form of inorganic and organic polymers; coatings,
elastomers, adhesives, blends, plastics, fibers, caulks, ceramics, and composites. Many research and
development projects related to polymers in various industries are conducted by chemists, chemical
engineers, physicists, textile technologists, mechanical engineers, pharmacists and other scientific groups.

Task Instruction:

1. Form a group consists of 4 or 5 members.

2. Choose ONE of the following industries and make an INFOGRAPHIC. One industry for each group.

• Medical
• Aerospace
• Agriculture
• Sports
• Electronics
• Transportation
• Construction

3. The guideline about the required INFOGRAPHIC as below:

• Names & matric number - make sure full names of the members of your group are on the
infographic poster

• Your infographic should have:

➢ Title

➢ Identify minimum FIVE (5) polymer products used in that industry. What type of polymer
material is/are used to make that products.

➢ Provide relevant pictures, information and polymer structures.

• Free style/creativity - font, design (Layout that provides effective 'eye-catching' visual impact,
with efficient use of space)

4. You can use any software or online infographic tools such as piktochart, canva, visme, snappa, etc.
