ABSTRACT

According to the International Journal of Adolescence and Youth, Students in secondary

and tertiary education settings face a wide range of ongoing stressors related to

academic demands. The researchers aim to determine the Effects of Stress on the

Academic Behavior of Senior High School Students in STI College Novaliches A.Y.

2020 – 2021 specifically the possible factors that cause stress, the effects on the

respondents' behavior, and the techniques the students' use to cope up with stress. The

researchers made use of qualitative research. The respondents were composed of

students at STI College of Novaliches, both male and female as they are qualified for

the standardized questionnaire that will be used by the researchers.

The respondents' responses towards the causes of stress are primarily on the academic

aspects. With regards to the effects of stress, the respondents' response is it affects

their decision-making abilities and it is harmed as a result of their stress, and they are

unable to think clearly and due to this it affects their academics and some respondents

experience difficulty with their sleeping patterns. For the coping mechanisms used by

the respondents to cope up with stress, they learned that time management is the

solution. In addition, respondents said that entertaining themselves in a way such as

watching movies. While others stated that exercising, performing religious acts, and

eating were examples of coping mechanisms of senior high school students

Chapter One

The Problem and Its Background

Introduction:

Stress is a normal human reaction that always happens to everyone. It can also

help your body to adjust to several situations. It can be positive or negative, depends on

the situation that we’re in. Stress becomes a problem when stressors continuously

experience without proper relief or periods of relaxation. The stressors can be parents,

teachers, or students. But most of the stressors are students, for the reason of the

carried burden from their family responsibility including academics that cause stress

when it becomes overload.

According to International Journal of Adolescence and Youth, Students in

secondary and tertiary education settings face a wide range of ongoing stressors

related to academic demands. Previous research indicates that academic-related stress

can reduce academic achievement, decrease motivation and increase the risk of school

dropout. The longer-term impacts, which include reduced likelihood of sustainable

employment, cost Government’s billions of dollars each year. This narrative review

presents the most recent research concerning the impact of academic-related stress,

including discussion of the impact on students’ learning capacity and academic

performance, mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety, sleep

disturbances and substance use.

These enunciates that there would always be countless of reason regarding sort

of people who experience stress while students are classified to be one of the pinnacles

6
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

of it. We aim to acknowledge senior high school students’ stability of mentality in

regards of stress. The determination of our researchers to examine this field may

cultivate and enlighten more people about how stress affects the life solidity of senior

high school students. This serves as evaluation with transparency and consideration to

those will be involved in order to spread awareness of behavioral issues brought by

stress. Furthermore, we expect that this study would be beneficent to educate more

students in controlling and handling the pressure and tension that they have been

grasping since this topic is a contagious problem – broadly felt especially that we are

amidst pandemic.

Everyone is exposed to stress at some point in their lives that makes

uncomfortable situations that are credible on affecting our sense of well-being and

quality of life. According to the cognitive-transactional model of stress, stress is the

dynamic relationship between an individual and the environment in which a stimulus

(whatever it is) disturbs an individual’s homeostasis, causing him/her to respond to the

situation with all available resources. When this occurs, we evaluate the demand

relative to our available resources, and the amount of stress we experience is governed

by the following rule: “the more resources we have, the less stress we will experience”.

Many criteria are used to categorize stress, and this leads to many terms for

different types of stress. One of these criteria focuses on the causes of stress, and it

generates such terms as marital stress, familial stress, work-related stress and

academic stress.

This study is to give the researchers a brief summary and possible result of the

study to be conducted. It is beneficial to identify the underlying possible process-

7

outcome to conduct the research regarding the academic stressors and their effects on

the students of STI College Novaliches. This research is also a considerable basis for

the results of the study. Whereas, similar results depending on the factors can be found

in the research.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

Generally, this study aims to determine the Effects of Stress to the Academic

Behavior of Senior High School Students in STI College Novaliches A.Y. 2020 – 2021

Specifically, it aims to answer the following questions:

1. What are the possible factors of stress to the Senior High School student of STI

College of Novaliches?

2. What are the effects of stress with the Senior High School student's behavior?

3. How do students of STI Novaliches cope up with stress?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study entitled “The Effects of Stress to the Academic Behavior of Senior

High School Students in STI College Novaliches A.Y. 2020 – 2021” will provide a

reference for the future researches and serves as guide to various beneficiaries.

This study will benefit the following:

For the STUDENTS, this study can be a supportive medium for them to express

their emotion and feelings as well as a guide on opening up the dilemma that they are

facing. This may also act as good sustenance for them to polish up their confidence and

make way to avoid or prevent stress. This study will counsel and encourage great

solicitude to ameliorate their feelings better. This study will give them guidance in

progressing a “stay positive” perception in order to overlook their problems into

perceiving that it has a solution.

As for the Teachers, this study may serve as a paradigm for influencing and

motivating their students by compelling them in regards of this study on how to handle

the stress that they are experiencing

As for the Parents, this may serve as an awareness and give them an

information that their children feel and experience stress that should be supported and

motivated by them.

For the FUTURE RESEARCHERS, this may serve as a reference material for

those who would like to conduct further study on similar topics. This research will assist

and accommodate them in making the most of their newfound knowledge.

9
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

Overall, this research study will support both students, teachers, parents and

future researchers by allowing them to determine and assimilate the impacts of stress

on senior high school students' academic behavior. This will also allow them to have

better comprehensiveness of what they can do to alleviate the stress that the student is

tolerating. Furthermore, this research will provide a new path for future research on this

subject.

ASSUMPTION OF THE STUDY

The research is conducted to know the potential effects of stress to students

specifically students of STI. Stress is your body’s reaction to a test or interest. In short

impacts, stress can be positive, for instance, when it causes you evade hazard or follow

a deadline. In this study, professor would have the idea on what could possibly be the

effect and the reason behind stress. Researchers assume that the student’s usual

provenience of stress are having ton of school activities and errands that are required to

be passed on a short period of time. There are also various factors regarding these

such as the difficulty to handle a family problem, while other cases are caused by the

pressure of society’s standards – who avoids maverick and at times the pressure on

how to cope up with the situations that they are into.

Stress could possibly have numerous effects towards student’s academic

behavior. The possible outcome are as follows: could degrade their energy making

them participate less in class, making them hesitant about their own ideas or lowers

self-esteem, having difficulty to handle problems, decrease attention span and sleep

disorders. Stress affects students diversely that they might react and cope with it in

10
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

various ways. Some may work but to others it won’t. The initial reaction of people

dealing with stress has to talk with peers and enjoy life, there are also different coping

mechanisms such as abnormal eating habit, too much sleeping as a way of escape to

the real world, doing yoga or exercise and listening to music.

Being stressed has impacts on student’s academic behavior like depression and

anxiety. These emotional issues are just some of the impacts of stress to academic

behaviour of students. Having mental breakdown is also a troubling predicament

because mostly, students can no longer handle the compulsion that they are feeling,

getting irritable, and not having enough of sleep just to finish their works. Students have

different ways on how they are going to manage with academic stress. Some are talking

with their friends, listening to music while answering their activities while some are

exercising.

Stress is a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in our life, work,

and such. We have various ways on how to cope up with stress. When a person is

stressed, notice that the first thing that they are doing is to talk with their friends. Talking

with their closest friends is a way for them to cope up with stress because they tend to

vent out to them and soon enough, they forget about their problems for a moment while

at the same time friends can lighten up their mood especially when they're tired. They

also motivate us and sometimes, even when we are not asking for it, they are helping

us in our problems that I think can help us reduce the stress that we are feeling. Another

one is practicing positive self-talk and getting enough sleep. There are also other

students that manage to cope their stressors by doing things that they enjoy such as

playing with their pets, playing sports, and abnormal eating habit. Also, there are some

11
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

other students that have certain stress relievers that help them release their stresses,

for example playing mobile games, doing their hobbies, watching funny videos, playing

instruments while there are some other stress reliefs that all students can do such as

getting enough sleep.

Another possible way on how senior high school students in STI can cope up with

their stressors are the following: some of them meditate, doing exercises, talk to their

friends, doing yoga, listening to music, and bonding with their family. Stress has many

effects on the students to their academic behaviour and there are many possibilities that

the students have responses similar into our assumptions such as low energy that can

possibly affect their lack of enthusiasm in their studying and lack of sleep because of

the deadline that they are chasing.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

The main focus of this study is to determine the effect of the stress to the

academic behaviour of the senior high school student and how will they cope up with it.

The respondents were composed of students at STI College of Novaliches, both male

and female as they are qualified for the standardize questionnaire that will be used by

the researchers. This study does not cover problems that are not associated with stress.

This study is limited to senior high school students only.

Review of Related Literature

2.1 Introduction

Stress is an unavoidable part of existence. It can be triggered by any situation or

thinking that causes you to feel upset, angry, or anxious. A low level of stress can be

beneficial. It has the potential to inspire you and assist you in being more efficient. It

allows people to share their strengths and energy while still pursuing happiness. We

feel stress for different reasons. One of these is Academic Stress. This type of stress is

related to the academic’s performance of a student. There are causes and effects on

why are students are being stressed on academics. Procrastination is one. Most

students procrastinate because they think that they can do the task in a short period of

14
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

time before the deadline. Academic stress could also be a problem with a certain

subject that a student is having difficulty with.

2.2 Foreign

• Level of stress and anxiety and sources of stress among secondary school

students

According to the findings, secondary school students have a medium level of

stress, with academic, intra-personal, and environmental stressors being major

sources of stress. There was a major gender gap in the degree of stress and some

causes of stress among secondary school students. It was suggested that high school

counseling and counselling units recognize students who are stressed and offer

appropriate support and management strategies.

• The impact of stress on students in secondary school and higher education

Students in secondary and tertiary education face a variety of ongoing stressors

associated with academic demands. Earlier studies have shown that academic-related

stress can decrease academic performance, lower motivation, and raise the risk of

dropping out of school. Long-term consequences, such as a lower probability of long-

term jobs, cost governments billions of dollars per year. This correlational study

discusses the most recent studies on the effects of academic-related stress, including

an overview of the impact on students' academic abilities and educational attainment,

mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, sleep disruptions, and drug use.

15
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

• Stress Levels Among the Senior High School Students in Practical Research 2

Anxiety and depression are caused by stress, which can occur at school,

church, or even at home. It is the body's and mind's responses to something that

tends to cause a shift in the balance. Although senior high school students may

endure common stressors in secondary school, perceptions of what constitutes

academic stressors may deviate.

• Sources of Academic Stress among Higher Secondary School Students

According to the findings, secondary school students have a medium level of

stress, with academic, intra-personal, and environmental stressors being major sources

of stress. There was a major gender gap in the degree of stress and some causes of

stress among secondary school students. It was suggested that high school counseling

and counselling units recognize students who are stressed and offer appropriate

support and management strategies.

• Academic Stress among Higher Secondary School Students: A Review

Basically, destabilized family relationships, peer pressure, malfunction to cope with

studies, substance abuse, and other triggers all contribute to adolescent stress. The

engagement of adolescents in acquiring immediate satisfaction of needs has

culminated in a great deal of stress in them and their relationships with parents and

society. Students from family units have marginally greater measured academic

anxiety compared with students from nuclear families, but this contrast is not positively

accurate. Academic stress among high school students is not dictated by IQ or

demographic factors. In order to overcome aberrant behavior, parents play a

16
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

constructive role in diverting adolescents' energies. Proper care should be taken in

order to assist them in making smart decisions that may affect their performance.

2.3 Locale

• Stress Coping Mechanism and Its Impact to their age among Senior High School

students at Parañaque National High School-Baclaran

Students who are adapting to a new living environment, new peers, academic

pressure, and sexual concerns experience stress. Being in the high level of education

can also put financial stress on the students and their families. These situations can

leave them with nervousness, worries, and multiple other symptoms of stress

performance or reduce the student to ineffectiveness (Blona, 2005)

There are many healthy ways to succeed and cope with stress, but they all need

change. You can either change the condition or change your response. The use of

technology, talking or praying to God, open up to their closest friends, crying, watching

movies and listening to music were the common stress coping mechanisms. When

deciding which decision to pick, it is helpful to consider of the four A’s: avoid, alter,

adapt, or accept. Since everyone has unique reaction to stress, there is no “one size fits

all” solution to handling it. No single technique works for everyone or in every situation,

so try different processes and approaches. Focus on the things that makes you feel

calm and were you can feel that you can control yourself (Duque, 2007).

17
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

• Perceived stress and academic performance of senior high school students in

western, Ghana

In psychology, stress is the demand made on an organism to adapt, to cope, or to

adjust (Rathus 2000, pg 565). Some stress is healthful and necessary to keep us alert

and occupied. Stress researcher Hans Selye (1980) referred to such healthful stress as

eustress, whereas stress that leads to negative consequences is known as distress. But

intense or prolonged stress can overtax our capacity to adjust, dampen our moods,

impair our ability to experience pleasure, and harm the body (Repetti, 1993). Stress can

also be defined as an unpleasant state of emotional and physiological arousal that

people experience in situations that they perceive as dangerous or threatening to their

well-being. Academic stress is the product of a combination of academic related

demands that exceed the adaptive resources available to an individual

Restless nights and short-tempered feeling were the common effects of stress.

There was a difference on the causes and effects of stress between the male and

female respondents. There are some mentioned common effects of stress, and these

are insomnia, headaches, backaches, constipation, diarrhea, high blood pressure, heart

disease, depression and alcohol intake.

• Academic Stress, Academic Motivation, and Its Relationship on the Academic

Performance of the Senior High School Students

Another study by (Bello, Gumarao, 2016) aimed to determine the students' stress

level and coping mechanisms and their relationship to academic performance. The

results of the study showed that there is no significant relationship between stress and

18
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

academic performance. However, there is a significant negative relationship between

avoidant coping strategies and ac academic performance. The more avoidant coping

strategy is used, the lower the academic performance of the respondents. A study was

also conducted in Lübeck, Germany, by (al., 2017). It stated that stress and low

academic performance could become part of a vicious circle. Thus, the study was

conducted to understand and examine the relationship between stress and performance

during medical education.

It appears that the cause of stress among teens and adolescent’s rests primarily on

family dynamics, peer pressure, inability to cope with studies, drug abuse and lack of

competence. Demographic factors such as age, race, income, educational attainment

and IQ of the student does not play a role in the cause of stress among teens.

2.4 Conclusion

A study shows that the bigger the family, the higher the tendency of anxiety and

stress among adolescents although this study is not conclusive. However, their need to

instantly fulfill their needs contributes a lot to triggering stress and creating tension in

their relationship with their families and friends. Parents needs to play a major role in

coping with adolescent stress. Their support and understanding will help their children

especially in making decisions for their future. They should be able to decide on their

own, based on their interests and skills and not what is expected on them.

Chapter Three

Research Methodology

This chapter will discuss the research method used, population frame and

sampling scheme, description of respondents, instruments used, and procedure in

gathering data that will be used for accurate data analysis and interpretation.

3.2 Research Design

The research defined in this study based on the qualitative research method. The

study will examine the relationship between variables, especially the effects of stress to

the academic behavior of the senior high school students. Participants will be selected

from Senior High School Students of STI College Novaliches A.Y 2020-2021. The

Descriptive Research method is used in gathering the needed information for this study.

This method enables the researchers to interpret the theoretical framework of the

findings and hypothesis development for the further studies. Specifically, the

researchers utilized a survey questionnaire and interview type of descriptive research

method which enables the researchers to gather information from the respondents.

3.2.1 Qualitative Research

According to (Myers, 2020), qualitative research methods was developed in social

sciences to enable the study of researchers about social and cultural phenomena.

Action research, case study research and ethnography are commonly example of

qualitative methods. In qualitative data sources includes the observation and participant

observation, interviews, questionnaires, documents, texts, and the impression of

20
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

researchers including the reactions while (Kaplan, Maxwell, 1994) said that the

motivation on doing a qualitative research, as opposed to the quantitative research is

come from the observation that, if there one thing to distinguishes the human from the

natural world, this is our probability to talk.

This qualitative research was design to help researchers to understand people, social

and culture context within where they live. Argue that the goal to understand the

phenomenon of the point of view of the participants and its particular social and

institutional context is largely lost when textual data are qualified. There’s one study

called “triangulation” that most of the researchers do either quantitative or qualitative

research which suggested to combine one or more research method.

3.3 Subject of the study

In this experimental study, 12 students of ABM-201 from STI Novaliches are

selected to participate in answering a questionnaire as part of a survey about stress-

related academical behavior. We did these questionnaires to the students in grade 12,

because we wanted to know their conditions when it comes to academic problems, how

they survived those days because what more did, they go through and know than the

grade11 students, they also adopted the stress of what they did and now that the

pandemic is even more difficult and that's why researchers want to know their point of

view including their experiences.

21
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

3.3.1 Population Sample

In this study, the quota sampling is used. The researchers choose quota sampling

because it allows the researchers to collect a sample a from subgroup. That is why we

divided the senior high school students depending on their gender. The target

population is made up of senior high school students from STI College Novaliches A.Y

2020-2021. The sample is consisting of 12 selected students, 6 boys and 6 girls they

will answer the interview questions provided by the researchers in order to gather the

information needed for the study.

3.4 Research Instrument

Research instrument are tool used to collect/gather, measure, and analyze data

related to the research topic to obtain the study’s objectives. According to (Edekin,

2012), Research instrument have constructed tools that help in the collection of data for

research.

3.4.1 Informed consent

According to the (Oxford, unknown), one of the founding principles of research

ethics is informed consent. It aims is for human participants to voluntarily join and take

part of a research after obtaining full details about what it entails for them to participate

and giving their consent before doing so. The participant must recognize the study for

them to understand what the research is and why they are consenting to.

The researcher used this informed consent from the specific respondents as a

contract that allowed them to obtain information that connected to their research topic.

22
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

This consent can serve as well as a proof that the respondents know why the

researchers want to interview them and what would be the purpose of this interviewing.

The respondents have a freedom to choose if they want to participate or not.

3.4.2 Recording Interview

According (allen, 2017), Social scientist usually used interviewing to collect data

when it comes from the communication field. During or after of an interview,

interviewers used recording system or by means of taking written notes; These

interviews often transcribed verbatim in preparation for study analysis.

Since face-to-face interview cannot conduct these days. Researcher used

recording interview to get the detailed information from the respondents. The researcher

used this tool to capture and record the whole interview and also keep the interview and

interviewer uninterrupted.

3.4.3 Survey Questionnaires

According to (Hellevik, 2019), the most widely used data collection method in

social sciences is survey questionnaires. This may be conducted either face-to-face or

over the phone, while interviewer asks the question and record the responses, the

respondent read the questions and provide an answer for themselves on a

questionnaire that will sent by post or via the internet.

The researchers used survey questionnaires to ask question that they wanted to

know. Those survey questionnaires that provide by the researchers were all open-

ended questions that tackles about respondent’s lived experience.

23
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

3.4.4 Social Media Messaging Platform

According to (global, unknown), communicating, sharing knowledge and ideas,

create and exchange information within a virtual called social media messaging. This

can be done from twitter, facebook, Pinterest and different social media platforms.

The researcher used Social Media Messaging Platforms as an alternate way to

gather information from those respondents that are far from them. The researchers

used Messenger and MS teams to gather information in the way of interviewing.

3.5 Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers will ask permission from the subject teacher to allow them to

conduct an interview among the ABM senior high school students in STI College of

Novaliches. Upon approval, the researchers will set an interview schedule with the

respondents.

The respondents will be instructed to answer with all honesty and with their

capabilities to the questions given. They will be also given enough time to answer each

question. The researcher will also repeat twice the questions if necessary.

Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data

This chapter includes the presentation, analysis, and interpretation of data that

we have been gathered from the questionnaires distributed to the respondents. This

chapter will also contain the presentation of data in narrative. Qualitative research that

uses interview questions to gather information and data from different participants from

Question no. 1: Have you been under stress recently? Why?

Answer: Oh lately. Hindi naman gano'n ka stress pero I would say na siguro ngayon.

Last few weeks pala, hindi pa masiyadong stress pero this week is ayon nga.

Nagsisimula lang naman 'yung stress since overload na naman 'yung schoolworks

namin, especially ngayon. Ngayong week kasi is gawaan namin ng output for expo, for

next week's expo. Tapos medyo na bu-busy and na stress ako kasi ako 'yung company

leader for our company.

Question no. 2: How often do you feel stress?

Answer: Hindi naman palagi, like sobrang madalang lang and 'yung main reason lang

kung bakit ako na i stress is acad. Sa academics lang ako na i stress and wala naman

masiyadong personal matters. And siguro mga once a week, isang week sa kada

month, siguro ganoon. Kapag exam week, stress ako ro'n.

25
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

Question no. 3: What are the possible causes of your stress?

Question no. 4: What are the types of signs that can become signals that you are

feeling stressed out?

5.2 Conclusion

Managing academic workloads that must be completed correctly and trying

your best to perfect the tasks given to you at school is not simple. Of course, we do not

want to leave a “lazy” impression on teachers and we want to follow the timetable that

has been established. However, being tardy is very nerve-wracking and one may lose

track of future tasks. Synchronizing the problem at home and school and having to deal

with an unstable internet connection, especially when something important needs to be

passed. Unfortunately, not everybody has the privilege to pay for an internet that works

like the speed of lightning.

According to studies, students cannot function at their best when they are

stressed. They cannot focus on their studies because they are overwhelmed with

other concerns. This is manifested in physical and mental tiredness, fatigue and a

general lack of interest in activities that they took interest before. They are easily

irritated; they lose temper and may result in a conflict with their relationship in their

parents, families, friends and teachers. Students cannot think properly well because of

too much work.

Every student has their own coping mechanism, we only of focus on coping up to

prevent the stress that we feel. We feel the stress in every different situation, which can

cause of affecting the academic behavior of each student. Every assumption that we

have is connected to every student, based on the results, our assumptions is one of

their way to cope up with their stress, like listening to music, talking with their friends,

doing exercises, playing games, and also getting enough sleep. In conclusion, we have

various ways on how to cope up with stress and they used these coping mechanisms to

48
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

prevent or lessen the stress that they feel in their home and in academic stuffs. Most of

the answers are connected in our research, that most of the students are using these

ways of techniques as a part of their coping up with their stress.

5.3 Recommendations

The researchers make the following recommendations for students, teachers, parents

and especially to the future researchers about a specific topic which is stress.

5.3.1 Students

Many students have been stressed recently because of the pandemic that we

experience nowadays. That’s why we, as a researcher, giving a recommendation for

them regards understanding of the Stress topic and provides them an information how

to face it and encourage them to do it as well.

The following recommendations are made:

• Students should always communicate with their friends

• Do the things that make them happy

• Student should also use time management

• Avoid procrastination

• Always think about future as well that everything would be okay

• Think positive, it might be hard but this is one way for us to face our challenges.

49
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

5.3.2 Teachers

The following recommendations, of which some were mentioned in chapter 1 in

significance of the study, pertain to how teachers should motivate their students and

serve as a paradigm for them. Moreover, being a teacher is not easy that’s why we,

researcher, will not be focusing on how to motivate their students but to motivate them

as well.

The following recommendations are made:

• Connect with others

• Be a good example for the students

• Help and motivate your students as well as yourselves

• Never afraid to seek help

• Not every stressor is avoidable. So, stress management for them requires

creativity and also time management

• Adapt every situation including the expectation for the students. never compare

your students from those smart students because it may lead to disappointment

• Lastly, acceptance. Whatever happens will definitely happen.

5.3.3 Parents

Academic behavior of a student affects their relationship with their parents. Most of the

students were stressed right now especially that the set-up is Online Class. Students

50
STI COLLEGE NOVALICHES GRADE 11

have been doing their activities, projects, and requirements in their homes. We,

researchers, have recommendations to the parents on how to cope up and help with

their child when they are stressed.

The following recommendations are made for parents:

• Always check up on your child.

• Be supportive and listen to your child’s concerns.

• Acknowledge your child’s feelings. If they are feeling sad or anxious, always tell

them that you are always by their side and do not invalidate their feelings.

• Do not pressure them. One of the factors that affect a student’s behavior is due

to the pressure coming from their own parents.

• Show love.

5.3.4 Future Researchers

One of the beneficiaries of this study was the future researchers.

The following recommendations are made for Future Researchers:

• It could help them identify the causes of a student's stress and how it affects

them.

• This study could help them in their research that has the same topic to us, and

also to avoid plagiarism.

•This could help the future researchers in managing and coping up with their stress and

what how the stress affects one’s behavior.
