This document provides instructions for measuring a shirt and recording the measurements. It lists 17 specific measurements to take, including the full length, chest and neck widths, sleeve length, and other key dimensions. Students are asked to measure a shirt and record the results on the sheet, and indicate which measurements will be used to make patterns for the front and back of a shirt.

Record the measurement of your shirt in the following sheet Sl No Measurement landmarks for Shirt In inches Or cm
1. Full Length of Shirt (distance between HSP* to Hem)
2. Chest Girth 3. Hen Girth 4. Side Seam Length (distance between under arm to hem) 5. Across Shoulder (distance between two shoulder points) 6. Across Chest (Horizontal distance between Armhole at 5”level from HSP on front of shirt Alternatively (2” smaller than Across shoulder) 7. Across Back (Horizontal distance between Armhole at 5”level from HSP on back of shirt Alternatively (1” smaller than Across shoulder) 8. Neck width (distance between two HSP points) 9. Front neck drop ( vertical distance between HSP and Neck point) 10. Back neck drop ( vertical distance between HSP and Nape point) 11. Shoulder drop ( vertical distance between HSP and Shoulder point) Alternatively record it as 1 1/2” 12. Rolling of shoulder seam in front (distance between HSP i.e. shoulder crease/fold line of shirt and shoulder seam) 13. Yoke depth (distance between nape point and yoke ) if applicable 14. Sleeve length (from shoulder point to above the cuff/ hem) 15. Sleeve inseam length ( under arm point to above the cuff/ hem) 16. Sleeve hem/ cuff girth 17. Cuff Length X Width (if applicable) 18. Curve of Tail (vertical height from hem to curve of tail) if applicable *Pls note HSP may not be the shoulder seam as in shirts the seam is normally rolled in front by an 1 inch so HSP is shoulder crease/ fold line when shirt is laying flat . Indicated the measurement which will be used to make the pattern for Front and Back of Shirt using the above specification sheet . For your convenience the landmark and the relevant measurement to be used have been marked
