This week has been a busy one as we had quite a few of counseling sessions with fathers.

I was able to get a range of fathers from different stages of life and different ages. It has been

informative as well as getting me in a more comfortable position seeing how to interact and

adjust to each individual father that walks through the door. The way it works is that a mother

schedules a appointment to verify her pregnancy and depending how long she is there will be a

ultra sound as well. The front desk will usually ask if the father will be present, and we will then

provide a file with resources such as how to be scheduled for doctor dad and churches in the area

as well as other materials to help get them contact with the fatherhood program and prepare them

for this new stage of life.

I also started on the internship project, the first initial part involved creating a registration

system for the fatherhood program and I decided to create two forms. One of the forms is a

printable in person form that will ask contact and demographics as well as consent to be involved

with the doctor dad project. The other form is an electronic form both are accessible to the clinic

and are made to be able to automatically collect and organize the demographic information for

the clinic to keep track of. I also have started going over the doctor dad training books and am

drafting up a document with the intention of the course as well as the execution of the project.
