• 11-14% estimated comes from plastic waste

• Plastic waste needs hundreds of years to degrade in
nature, and possibility of microplastic formation in
marine environment

Looks like plastic but it is NOT plastic
• ENVIPLAST® is a biobased polymer
compound, made mainly from
industrial natural starch, vegetable oil
derivatives, and other natural
ingredients.

• ENVIPLAST® is biodegradable and a

potential replacement for conventional
plastic films

• ENVIPLAST® is safe for plant growth

and animals

( WIL Research U.S., The Netherlands,)

TEST METHOD :
OECD No.423 (2001) "Acute Oral Toxicity”

RESULT :
ENVIPLAST® does not have to be classified and has no obligatory
labeling requirement for acute oral toxicity according to the Globally
Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) of
the United Nations (2011) and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on

Development of ENVIPLAST® Film as
Oxygen Barrier
• Initially Enviplast® was designed for blown film
application as an eco-friendly alternative to
conventional PE bag
• Initial measurement of O2TR of the film indicates
high oxygen barrier characteristic
• We are exploring the possible application for
flexible packaging as a core layer
• Enviplast® has a very hydrophylic surface
characteristic  dry lamination is a possible
approach.
